    Ok punters here we go…

If you were to pay ummmm lets say $150.00 for a ride what would you expect for your money????

    Me….

    I would expect Fuel,Food,and a sweep rider

Fuel, seeing to fill my bike is something like $12.00.
Food, $30.00 per person gives you heaps of tucker.
    Sweep riders, Normally free.

So far it cost $42.00 to run me and add $12.00 if I refuel, so probably a total of,$54.00.
Mmmmm aproximatly $96.00 profit thats not bad profit per rider per day, I`m sure someone will do that percentage thing..lol

I’d say they would have to spend a fair bit of that on public liability insurance to cover their arse just in case someone doesn’t realise that Dirt bikes are dangerous bits of gear.

Yep, insuranes will be very expensive and maybe even some money to the landowners. Don’t forget signs advertising and any other overhead costs for things like generators, paper, printer cartridges blah blah blah…

Thats all very good however I was asking what you would expect as a participant not an organizer?

How people choose to spend profit is up to them.

I think you will find it is a charity/fundraiser ride with the proceeds to a school from memory Boony,so technically there should be no profit.

If i was to run a charity ride then there would be no in pocket profit, all would go to charity, like rescue choppers or something. The logistics of running a large rider gathering would be mind blowing,,Not my cup of tea.
but as a rider attending people seem to think that the costs arent warrented, I was just trying to get a scope on what different riders would expect for their money..

From my POV Boony, I would be happy for the organisers to do less but charge less as well. I like a ride to be simple. Turn up, ride, go home. I don’t need the raffle, the catering and so on. Just bring it back to a pure riding experience. Turn up, sign on, get a sticker (if that’s the go), and ride. You want to eat? Sure, there’s a BBQ over there, cook your own snags, or go over to the Rotary tent and buy something. I don’t eat a lot when riding.

Just my opinion. Apparently there is demand for the other crap. smiley-confused005.gif smiley-confused004.gif

I’m with ECKS, do what the budget domestic airlines do and give you cheap prices and charge for the extras. I’d rather do it that way than be forced to pay for stuff I don’t want.
