As some of you may or may not be aware I am doing a conversion to use my 2008 KTM 450 EXC-R as a Dual Sport bike to do both Adventure and Trail/Single track rides. One of the things that the KTM requires for Adventure Style riding is increased engine oil capacity. As the 08-11 Models use separate oil compartments for engine and gearbox. Engine 700ml and Gearbox 900ml. By the fitment of the CPW Cooler the engine oil is increased by an additional 450ml as well as the oil filter is now located in the new reservior. ;)
    Here are a few pics.

    The CPW Kit

Yes i know it is orange and sticks out like chrome balls on a black dog  or as TB has already said it looks like a penis extension but there were no black ones left available so it’s all good.

One little issue that I was actually told by Don Mcgrath when i bought it was that I will now need an aluminium bash guard as the std plastic one interferres with the oil lines as it fits very close to the cases. But an aluminium one will give better protection anyway.

It also includes a case saver which goes over the top of the clutch slave cylinder. Unfortunately CPW were out of stock of these so i should have it next week. This gives the cooler 4 mounting points.

Good idea the extra Oil capacity Left One ;) The 690 holds 1.7ltr unlike your machine .
CPW engineer good gear too by all accounts ,

Don`t listen to TB, if it was bling for the Tenere, it would be on like Donkey Kong :P

While at Finke this year I saw a couple of 690’s with an additional oil reservoir welded to the front of the bash plate to give more capacity and to cool the oil. I took a few photos and was trying to see where they had the oil lines connected.
I’ll post up some photos later so Eagle can drool over them and add to his wish list

Bling yes Eags absolutely everyday of the week ;) A big ORANGE emergency locating beacon that if the bike fell on it’s side would have the Russian cosmonauts screaming for welding helmets, no
