So, after I crunched my near side radiator, I considered the options: repair, replace with OEM or replace with aftermarket. I decided to replace with PWR manufactured aftermarket units. They also claim to increase the coolant system volume and supposedly are more efficient at cooling.
So, I fitted them. A pretty straight forward job. The only thing I will say is that the top spout on the off-side radiator does seem a little too long which allows the top radiator and equaliser hose to lay hard up against the fuel tank. I gently adjusted these without any problem.
Now, to protect these suckers as well as possible, I had a look around at the various types of radiator guards. I settled on the ‘Unibiker’ type. These fitted up quite well, a little fiddley but no big drama. I had to make a slight modification to the lowest near side aluminium brace by filing a recess into it so that the header pipe didn’t sit hard up against it.
So, there’s what’s going on at the moment. More happening too, with a damper, braided line & o/s front disc etc. I’ll update on those things later.
