I remember the rockhoppers. The one I remember had a wind up starter on it(state of the art) also there was a Deckson daredevil too. NO PDS or linkage there (no suspension there at all) and we still had fun riding them, like I said a minute ago get out and ride and enjoy what you’ve got no matter what brand.

If you wanted to get a minibike/pitbike or the like for your kids to buzz around on would the parents of today consider those sorts of minibikes? I.e simple, fun, unbreakable and most importantly not made in China.

    Yep I’m off topic

A neibourhood mate had the TAS when I was about 5 he was a bit older than me and hardly ever gave me a go. He use to double me around on it all the time though. I remember sitting on it backwards while he’d double me. It was a great little thing. It was a pull start with a clutch and no gears and the foot pegs was just a straight bar weldered through the frame. It was great fun and the reason i love riding today

Good stuff. Alot of those old good times are a reason most of us ride today. The new versions of those old minibikes (virtually same design) have rudimentary suspension PDS style. Front and back too. Maybe KTM and Husa should invest in front suspension PDS too? :)

Umm just a point to clarify for a few, I owned a 300exc PDS for over 2 years, had Terry Hay hamburger with the lot suspension.

I may buy one again if they get their act together on a few issues, not bashing orange, bashing poor engineering practices.

And 4T and people who don’t agree with me, and suzukis, and harley riders, and women, small children and probably Doggies too.

BTW I DON’T like PDS, but I do like Bikes even KTM bikes, but I’m a bit suss on those poofy GasGas now you mention it….. ;)

While a Wauchoppe Went into Mud and Tar and saw the Gas Gas and you could have been the most limp wristed rider of all and you would have had no trouble with the clutch. I think the action was so light at high speed the clutch would have blown on. Very nice. There was a bike in the window that was sex on wheels cant remember what it was but it was 2T. But on the topic which has gone a little bit interesting i think Mr blue you are definately fishing with a huge net

The nambotin 300 they had on display was definitely appealing to manly Blokes & non-so manly Guys, even gay bats would go and stare at it’s beauty in the evening glow of the flro lights it powered with it’s very prescence.

There was apparently a untaken one in Vicco, but by the time I found out about it and tracked it down it was snapped up a few hours before.

    $16k on the road…..

but still the MOST sensual dirtbike I have ever laid eyes on.

and I still am unhappy about PDS, people who are wrong, cause they don’t agree with me, rev happy 4Ts and people who still don’t agree with me, and suzukis, and harley riders, and women, children and definitely small Doggies too.

Interesting use of the word “Choose” Rocket, as afar as I am aware, only the enduro guns and FMX lads get to choose wether they want a 2T or 4T for competition. Oh Mr Honda can i ride a 2T in the SX series?…. whaddya mean my contract need reviewing.

Besides we are speaking of taking te choice away from 4T lovers, would just like to have ours back again…

plenty of in-depth and insightful discussions on TT about this with some good answers from some people with relevant experience in the race scene.
