CRF 80

Just bought my 11 year old son an 07 CRF 80
He had a crf 70 and then a chinese thumpstar.
The 80 is a great all rounder which will let him do
everthing very easliy.
The thumpstar was an interesting piece of machinery.He was starting to push it a bit hard with numerous parts breaking.

You dont have to push the chinese copy bikes too hard to kill them, I think just starting them is what kills them

Agreed Rat, I saw a 5 year old girl on one at Pacific Park, going around a corner and the whole frame just fell apart, snapped off the dad walking back with forks and wheel in one had and the rest of the bike in the other.

Chris as a MNSW Scrutineer I have no authority over the copy bikes, and at a club meet if there were to be a fully sanctioned Fast 50 event(not that any club with brains will host such a thing)the Fast 50’s would not even be looked at, I had a couple of people approach the club wanting to have fast 50’s racing, I asked MNSW what do I do as far as safety compliance and was told there is none as there are new companies every week in China making different bikes and they could not keep the approved list up to date, so they canned the list and said let them ride what ever and that if they are silly enough to get into fast 50 racing in the first place, (when they really should be on a bigger machine)they get what they deserve……

I spent Saturday out at Pacific park (fuggin hot!) what a dust bowl,plenty of chromosome depleted people out there (i probably could be counted as one as well)its been about 20 years since I was last there,good for the kids to muck about with their mates,lots of pitbikes,spose its better they ride there and not on the streets or in the forests.The lad who runs it was very friendly and helpful.I think I will go back another time with the boy. cost was $25 for a rider ($20 next time)and $7 for a spectator.Plenty of people there i just hope it doesnt end up closing like a number of other parks around the country

Hey Ollie, yeah it is good for the kids, I wouldn’t bother taking my bike there anymore as it’s too depressing riding around in circles all day.. That said there should be more places like pacific and Dave does a good job running the place. Dave has just bought the property next to his as to stop the noise complaints that they were getting and threatening to close him down. Dave is a friend of TB’s Family thats how we know all this. We should support dave and take the kids their more often, just talking about organising a kids day down there, you know BBQ, Beer for the Adults, maybe a camp for the saturday night would be a good social event for the Kiddies.. Would you be interested????????????????????????????????????

PS I agree with you in not taking your own bike,there is only one little decent uphill,mostly the rest is just flat

speaking of flat,my boy managed to find a bloody ol rusty nail, lucky it was getting near on time to pack up:angry:
