    CROSS AUSTRALIA ON THE NEW KTM700RR
    AND SPOT TRACK LINK
    Fellow Adventure Riders,

    I’ll keep this short and sweet as I should be getting on the new KTM 700RR that Darren Wilson and I have developed over the last 18 months in the next hour or so to head off on a new all dirt across Australia crossing from Byron Bay to Steep Point.

    The course will be the same as what the late Tony Kirby as well as Phil Hodgson’s and Bill Lava have taken from Birdsville on, but John Hudson has modified the first quarter of the trip so that in reality we will only be travelling 300 km of bitumen in the whole crossing.

    This no doubt would have been the course that Tony Kirby would have liked to have taken, but was redirected many years ago due to torrential rain causing flooding for the first 1500 km.

    John will be riding a new KTM 1190 R Adventure and we will both be leaving from Byron Bay on Saturday morning. We are not going for any record as it is a all-new course, but more so to create the course and do a shakedown for this new KTM 700RR Adventure that Darren and I hope to put into production in the near future.

    Great work Boulder I have actually been talking with John ‘Homer’ Hudson the last two mornings and actually shared a tip that I had seen Nick do at Tekniks to fix a problem that to use his words they has searched the world for a solution for. Well done Tekniks !!

    Going to be a wicked ride and I can’t wait to watch their progress. How is the ol Dingo going after his recent pelvis injury Boulder?
    Imagine the pace as both those lunatics can ride :ohmy:

    Craig is all good mate and was on fire the weekend he rode with us.
    He is really excited about the 700RR build and we saw it in the flesh in his shed and it looks bling!! ;)
    They were supposed to head up Thursday to start there ride but I think they are a day behind, Craig was waiting on some last parts to finish the 700 and John had some work to do on the 1190, Saturday is now there start Day.
    It should be good to watch there progress and I wish them well!! B)

    I have been watching this build and the ride planning for a while,, the tanks and fairing are an interesting kit, especially with the cost of importing the RR gear from the UK lately :blink: There has already been at least one Old Bull making firm enquiries ….

    I reckon they will have guys lining up to purchase as soon as they are tested and available ;)
    One hell of a test,, Coast to Coast at Full Noise , Hartley does nothing by halves hey :woohoo:

    They are out in the Simpson now , must be gunna swag it tonight , probably be a below zero morning tomorrow , wish i was out there with them instead of doing home maintenance this week .

    The boys are having a beer at Mt dare, they had a good run across the Desert today.
    I would love to know how the big 1190 went out there!! :unsure:

    They are close now lefty, big effort with the 1190, will be interested to hear how the 700 handled it too, just goes to show KTM bikes can do it!! B)

    Bloody Oath Boulder ;) I’m going to do this trip one day!!

    It looks like they have pulled up stumps at the Overlander Road House only a short trip in the morning to Steep Point.
