Best spot for the early updates (same as the evening coverage on SBS) but is posted heaps earlier ;)

Quinn Cody sort of looks a bit like our Dejay in the day 3 clip
He had no idea of where his bike was or what had happened either :pinch: :pinch: :pinch:

It`s proving to be a tough event this year with the new routes in the first 3 days
Already close to 20 bikes withdrawn so far (just about all the Hondas are out on day 3) :P

Will be interesting to see how the mountain stages pan out for the competitors (if there sre any left by then)

BTW, How good is the thoughfulness & concern from fellow riders when Cody crashed ???
At least 3 riders stopped to render assistance (all 3 were in the top ten or there abouts) ;)

    Awsome stuff

Just watched the footage of Codys crash, a big off! Glad he’s ok, pays to be on a Kato though!! Plenty of action in the sand stages today and yesterday!!

    Yeah,
It got a 20 second mention on our local news tonite :)
But only for Codys Crash

Piss poor coverage really for such an event with ever growing Aussie contenders :(

Does anyone know if there is a weekend summary coverage of the Dakar? I reckon Sunday session on the couch with a few coldy’s would be the go :woohoo:

Bugger me that was a big off!!!!! I did notice that he didn’t have a neck brace on. Either he took it off or was not wearing one. I did notice in the regulations that it is not mandatory “only recommended” to wear a neck brace.
    He is one lucky guy!

Coverage is the same daily for the two week duration ACE ;)
Or you could do what I do,,, record it all on a T BOX then replay them back to back

I find the best vids & updates on the sbs link I posted earlier though

OUCH!!! Massive off and he still looked in shock when he was getting interviewed…understandable :( He hadn’e even looked at his bike yet – totalled :( :(

Great comp with the 450’s but i wonder if the big bikes will come back in years to come?

Thanks for the tip Eags ;)

Old mates Honda must have a PDS rear shock 😆 , it kicked up in the ass just like a PDS equipped bike is supposed to do.

Doesn’t matter what sort of suspension you got if you hit something fast enough and in the wrong way you are gonna get spat over the bars.

A French rider is on the critical list after crashing on the second day, going mising & being exposed to the extreme heat of the deserts of Argentina

Hope he pulls through, already 3 lives have been lost during the event this year :(

Rod Faggotter is out :( , I thought he was going all the way with a jump from over 100 th place to 23 rd.

Next year I hope, Rod !

Apparently they made the call to replace the piston in Rod Faggotters bike and something went wrong stopping him from continuing ?? That would be the worst was to go out I reckon :(

Yeah, Was bad luck for Rod :( He was cranking and gaining all the time
I am still watching Dean Nuttall on the KTM 450RR with interest,,, He is motoring as well and will hopefully finish well placed ;)

Looks like tomorrows stage is cancelled, due to bad weather & SNOW on the ANDES
Have been suffering temps above 45degrees the past 4 days and now Snow stops the mountain crossing :S

Looks lke a large convoy type day tomorrow to get to the next revised competitive stage ,,,,

Well, Not even halfway into the event & we are down to 60 bikes from 188 starters
Sure has been a tough first week!!!

Dean Nuttall is still doing well & should be good after the rest day to continue, along with David Schwarz on the Berg ;)
The Dunes of the Atacama are massive & soft sand rips the guts out of the fiercest competitors , so not surprising to see so many out

How good are Despres & Coma on the KTM`s ??? Now toying with each other at the front. Neither is too keen to lead the next few stages, but would rather follow the others tracks due to the navigation being so difficult and this can lead to big time losses if you stuff up
They are only 7 mins apart and have a god lead from 3rd placed Rodrigues some 45 mins back …..

Stage 7 vid & results here
