She had been on the bike for 24 hrs. 3 hrs later after an engine change to fix an oil problem she was back at the start with a 17 hr penalty. What a amazing chic…
KatYeah Kat, that stage 9 was going along really well for her, her “GOLDEN DAY”.
She started 13th!!
Check point 1, she was 18th quickest – only 1min 52sec behind the leader – Todd Smith 31st, Grabbo 32nd, Faggotter 46th, Cummings 47th and Strange 48th!
Check point 2, Grabbo 22nd quickest – Sanz 23rd!!!
Then she disappeared unfortunately. Must have been the start of her Engine oil problem.
Next day – Stage 10, she actually started 134th – Bugger!
By Check point 1, she’d put in the 104th quickest time
Check point 2, 106th quickest.
Final Overalls not finalised yet.
Cool Chick that one – Wouldn’t want to be in an argument with her! One determined woman.
Crash

Massive results for a few of our best this year…
How damn good is that Grabbo bloke and Rocket Rod ????
I heard today that the fault that ended Troy O`Connors Dakar was a pinhole in a line to the Oil Cooler :pinch: pumped out all the oil on Day 5 …
His dad is home and the stories of the experience have started to emerge. I hope to catch up with Troy in the coming week to hear his thoughts,,, and shake his hand
Now looking forward to next year :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
January 30, 2013 at 8:46 am #233484Interesting interview with Mr Strange and his mate on ABC Radio,,
A bit long, but a great insight into what they went through both in the leadup and during the event.
All seemed relieved it was over :laugh:Hard yakka for sure !!!
On another note,,
Our Newy Publican (Troy) is reportedly looking pretty good to back up next year for unfinished business
Apparently he is sporting the failed Oil Cooler and Roadbook at the pub for storytime & giggles :laugh:I need to get over there to see him ASAP, I still need to shake his hand & shout him a brew
