:woohoo: I had a great day at the Hastings Valley MCC today chewing the fat with the Wauchopian local Old Bulls
Saw some excellent action & racing in all grades, also had the pleasure of seeing Chris Hollis ripping it up on his new KTM350
Damn, he is one smooth rider and announced that he is off to Alice Springs next week to practice for the Finke Desert Race ,,,,
He summed it up with a response of ” Well I`m heading out there to have a look and will either enjoy myself or BE SHIT SCARED !!!” :laugh:Thanx to all the locals that made me & Ash feel welcome
We will be back for sure to help out where we can soon ,,,,,Cheers

February 19, 2012 at 12:47 am #216467February 19, 2012 at 9:14 am #216491Yeah it was good to catch up eags, although I ended up in a marshall box for a while. Hollis had a first turn incident later in the day and had to go to hospital for a x-ray on his hand. Here’s hoping it doesn’t jeopardise his assault on Finke.

February 19, 2012 at 9:34 am #216468:blink: That`s too bad for him if it is damaged ,,
As for your marshalling box time,,, You can blame me for that after I volunteered you and put you on the spot
I wil have a go nest time on the hose & on the flag,,,
I really enjoyed my time there and Ash loved it and was quick to tell mum she wants to get a bike & race
That will be like getting honey out of a cat to get the go ahead I can tell ya :dry:Cheers
February 19, 2012 at 9:43 am #216496Yeah I noticed you were pretty quick to volunteer me for the job. No worries Eags, I would have done it anyhow. The Marshalling box on turn 1 is a pretty good spot to watch the racing up close.

Good to see you there Eags. It was a fun day
Hollis’s hand might be OK for Fink but the 1st round of the AORC in a couple of weeks could be another story. I didn’t see it myself but apparently his hand didn’t look good.

That’s a good point the AORC, surprised they let him mince around in little non championship rides considering the investment they have in him. I mean practicing is one thing on your own etc, maybe there are extra risks racing at a local motocross where a local could try that bit harder to beat said “Gun factory rider” thus endangering both of them. Not saying that’s what happened but the extra risks are there I think. Hope he is alright be interested to see how he goes at Finke

February 19, 2012 at 10:35 am #216469Yeah, Good point ,,,
It had to happen on turn 1 rather than anywhere else on the track cause noone was even close to him after that :laugh:I think his first moto, he was about 5th into turn 1, but had the lead before half a lap was done, then put about 20 seconds on the field by the laps end
Very smooth and fast riderFebruary 19, 2012 at 3:52 pm #216519Here’s a cracker pic from yesterday’s raceday……
All Hail President MOOSE
