May 14 – 18 at Catombal Range bike park near Wellington.

This is run through DBW, but a lot of us are members of both sites and I was wondering if any of the Old Bulls are coming, besides me and JRD (if he can swing it)?

Its a good event, lots of fun and top folks to meet. If you like riding rocks of course! They have unpowered camping sites there.

Catombal has a motocross track, thumper flat track, kids track and miles of trails through the hills. There will be a hill climb competition, and a poker run, possibly other activities and hijinks! There will be demo bikes on hand for you to try out as well.

There are more details here if you are interested: http://www.dirtbikeworld.net/forum/showthread.php?t=54902&highlight=dbw9
    And here: http://www.dirtbikeworld.net/dbw9/dbw9booking.htm

EARLY BIRD BOOKING FEES (paid before May)
    Normal Adult: $115.00
    Club Mud Adult: $99.00
    Children U16 $45.00
    Family prices on request

$115 sounds pretty good. I have lots of Birthdays in May so won’t make that ride. Cool for the DBW guys that it’s in NSW and not Vicco though :)

I think its not bad value, and last year I won a set of tiedowns, probably worth $50, in the poker run. :)

My mate Axel won two tyres and oil and other goodies. Well and truly paid for his weekend!

Its a fair haul for the Vicco’s and QLD’ers, but there’s a lot of folks coming regardless.

Shame for you to miss that one mate, catch you at Catombal another time!

Any other OBT members who want to come, you don’t have to join DBW, you can just turn up as an “other”!

ecks, call me silly but what is a “poker run”??

    #124887

Poker run, havn’t seen one of them for years. From what I remember the way they work is ya get a poker card for every lap ya complete of a set course. Guy with the best pcker hand at the end is the winner.

Scotty’s got it! Yeah Al, you can come for one day or two or whatever. If you come on the Sunday you will be able to go in the poker run.

I like the rocks, I’ll be riding the Friday Saturday and Sunday, unless something happens.

Basically my comrade young Menace it’s is a situation were most probably you’ve got really inebriated, picked up, got lucky, sobered up, realised what you’ve got into and left in a hell hurry (yamahas are the best for this part, ktms maynot be quick enough or maynot start)
    it’s a Poke-her-& Run

or it could be a variation on Eck’s type, but the first type is way more fun at the time, except you can’t really tell the missus all about your “excellent riding skills last night”

back in my day though, when i was young silly, i would ride my yammy around pissed to the eyeballs, usually ending in a roost through the campfire……or an injury…..or both.

then in the morning, my missus would tell me about my “excellent riding skills last night”…..i always thought i’d got lucky??

now im wondering if i was actually getting lucky at all:P

but i wouldnt ride the kato around pissed, too much power man…. toooooo much.

Just refreshing people’s memories and pointing this ride out to our new members!

This will be a great weekend worth of riding, socialising and possibly a drink or two!

There is still a few weeks left before the early payment fees are gone! Good value!

Sorry, TB, would you like to delete this thread? Fair enough really, you know, what with DBW being a “rival” website and all!

Mate, I wouldn’t presume to invite the scummy people from DBW to one of your rides because as we OBT blokes know they are all mongerals and deserve shooting… I figured if you wanted them there you would invite them yourself? :P

I have also explained why I have not put my name down for Louee yet, plus there is one more reason that we are not making public as yet, but about that time of year it will all become clear!:)

Sorry, I really shouldn’t bite, but I’ve just had to deal with a sick and cranky 18 month year old girl!:side:
