We are organising a ride at Dirtbike Territory(Narrabri) to be held on the 23rd and 24th of January that we hope to make an annual event. Shane Johnstone from Moree has got about ten deffinites from his end and Blue who owns the park has another group of ten locked in. So far I have four from Tamworth but are looking for more. You wont need a MA licence or registered bike, quads will also be allowed. All ages and skill levels will be catered for and there are bypasses on hard sections so people can have fun at their own skill level. If you think you are pretty talented you can try “horsepower hill” that only three people have climbed. You can do one day or two so this will effect the price. Price is $50 per day to ride and stay the night. Under 16’s are $30. Price for non riders accomodation is $25. Scott said you can do two half days if you like to add up to one day fee. The more people we can get the cheaper it will be for all of us. There is cabbins and plenty of room for tents.

I’ll be there too. No excuse really as it is just up the road. It is excellent riding. Hopefully I can manage to be in front of the monster rock throwing kwaka though.

There will be plenty of room. I’m not exactly sure of numbers but bring your swag as a back up and if nothing else you will be guaranteed a roof to put it under. There’s bunks out there for 30 so I’d be very surprised if they’re all taken.

    Hi Aaron
I realise this is a ride park, but will they have a marked loop or loops for all skill levels as i am thinking of bringing the family.

Sounds like it is a proper organised ride just wanted to make sure before i commit.

    Mick,

There are lots of marked loops. Not sure of your kids age or abilities but there are nippers (50’s) grass tracks that can be watched from the quarters. Also great fun on the big bike too. There are longer grass tracks within a few km’s of the quarters as well. There are also several single track loops with varying levels of skills required from beginners to average. The farm is 7500 acres with large areas of both cleared country and scrub so there will be somewhere to ride for all abilities.

Sometimes the easy corners can bite though cant they! Im sorry im not the one to comment after my lame trail ride like effort Upper Horton Pony EX. Just spoke to Shane from Moree. He said he had organised a heap more people. This weekend is going to be great. Because there will be so many people there there will be lots of people who will have a small bike in tow. You can meet up with people in the same predicament and go slowly, slowly, stop with them. Just as there will be those fighting it out like its the last race of GNCC. There are some pretty big hills there that you never lose sight of so you never seem to lose your bearings. Im a bit like a goldfish and can never remember which way im suposed to be going(At Nundle for eg) but i never have trouble at dirtbike territory.

Id happily take the muddy roost just as long as theres no dust. For lovers of classic motorcycle racing i think the WR426 will be making a triumphant return.Unless somebody can find me en ER185 to pilot.

For those interested, I think the grand plan is to gather at Bike Territory 8am Saturday morning. All levels of riding catered for. Accomodation available for Friday night as well for those travelling.

    See you there

Shane and a few of us will be going ofer Friday night. Just serviced the wr426 havent ridden it for a year and a half. Wouldnt start so put a fresh spark plug in it and it fired first kick. The Yz450 might be the getting all the fun if it continues like this. Hope to see you there should be heaps of fun.
