With the first Nav ride for the year coming up,Fucshy and I went out and started to get the pre run underway.
We kick off at 6am from Brackenridge straight in to the Bago forest for a warm up session.
It was good run up to Kempsey were we fuelled, while we were in Kempsey we stop at Cols Yamaha dealer ship to see Fucshy new WRF450 he is picking up on Monday.
Got to keep a eye out for the live stock in some parts
Then headed up to Taylors Arm the famous Pub with no beer, so we put it to the test and there was some beer to Fuschy delight.
Some great views from up top of the mountains
The next part was to try a new way around Jacobs Ladder, if you were on the last Nav ride up here you would of come down it, going up is a little bit harder but more than durably as Fuschy shown us.
The new way around did not work due to storms, we came across the mess, so back down and find another way.
We found a line on the GPS that look like it would work, it was called Billy’s Goats Track, I said to Fucshy anything with like kind of name can’t be good, but he said let’s give it a go. This is why pre running is so important , it about get it right before you have 30 bikes on the side on a mountain.
The result was this , it was step and just kept going up, now time to skull drag these bikes and get back down.
The view back down
Fucshy bike had been play up all day trying to get it started, we spoke to TB, and pull the pin and make our way to Nambucca Heads for the night.
Discussion was made not to run today due to Fucshy bike playing up, so we woke up to this view of the Nambucca River this morning, had some breakfast and headed home.
Getiing ready for home
To all that our coming on this ride , there will be two routes One Enduro route and a easy route, so you will have a choice to what suits your style of riding.
To ever one that is coming enjoy yourself, and you will have a great time with RideADV for 2014.
Cheers

January 12, 2014 at 4:03 am #253106my 1st one is a warning just before these photos I had my camera off this road looking to be a safe high grip road its just out of pembrook about 30 mins into the ride I was doing about 80 just keeping speed and lost the back end so bad I was at full lock and scaping the ground with my right foot thinking it was all over later when telling strucky he said it was very loose to . so keep in mind it very slippery along here I would not do and more then 80. 60 to be safe
January 12, 2014 at 4:50 am #253107this is the heart ache of being so close but so far away owe day only got worse from here to find a way around Jacobs ladder. next post will be me riding Jacobs ill put it in 720p for those who want to have a crack
January 12, 2014 at 5:04 am #253108400 min to upload Jacobs leader to youtube dam. going up billygoat trail (the photo of the bikes crashed) was insane we should have stopped at the bottom but it did not look that bad and it had a good creek crossing before it. tho at the bottom of the hill I thought id have a look at how bad it got at first I was like yeah id ride a 1200 up this then well it only got worse and worse to bouncing from side to side of the track my legs every where I thought time to stop and turn around as no one is going to able to ride up this I seen a place to stop but I was already stuffed and when I pulled in to stop I lost it thinking struck was not stupid enough to ride up this I was going to pick up my bike up then I here strucky coming full noise and wheel spinning tho he doesn’t make it far as you can see from the photo that has got to be the worst place to drop that bike as even with 2 of us it was very hard to pick up. so we get both bikes up and I tell strucky to wait till we both get going to ride off but off he goes I am now stuck at the top of billy goat trail and my bike will not start I get off to try to push it out of the hole its in not even close about 15minets goes by and I still cant start this thing all I can think is there is no recovery for my bike im going to have to leave it here and go get help then finally it kicks over and I ride down one of the worst hills ive ever been on. this hill is not on route and on one will be riding it. after this with the bike trouble and no recovery options we would have to call it quits.

I am looking forward to this one and am thinking of taking the 400 for this ride as it has spent too much time in the shed since the KTM has arrived! :dry:January 12, 2014 at 7:44 am #253114You will have a lot fun on the 400 Boulder
