Do I need a mega powerful XYZ1500cc bike to come riding with you mad blokes? The only rego’d dirtbike I have is the cook’s 2010 XT250. Ive been thru the bush in some tight stuff with it and it was great. I even surprised a few veteran bush riders where I got it too!

I have been rounded up by plenty of blokes on lesser bikes than the XT…. then again that isn’t saying much

    Thats crap LC.
Get to it rat. Your bike will be fine. Most trailriders I see nowdays probably deserve to ride a lesser bike than an XT! Have fun on the cheap mate! Disclaimer: buy the best protective gear you can afford.

I’m just shit stirring, if it has wheels and a motor and you have a good go almost any bike can go anywhere.

if your not continuasly botteming it out bending brake and gear leavers geting stuck in ruts and looking for more power all the time i can not see a reason to update and if you are you will prably smoke most of us oldbulls anyway .those lower bikes are often faster in the singles anyway just go riding and have fun

    Never mind the 1500cc

But you might want to fit a 30 litre tank to the “little” 250, some of these guys don’t just go for a short ride

When you drop it or get in to some really tough stuff you will be laughing at the guys with the “big” mules as they struggle to muscle their bikes around. B)

I can take the piss she’s cool!
I went out on a grade 2 easy ride back of Nowra last year and ended on a grade 3 harder ride at the end. The XT was so much lighter than the 450’s, 400’s and 520 that was with me. I guess my trials riding expereince came into it too.
I now have the good gear to wear as well.
Ive found a backpack that can take fuel and water…might look into getting that. But i got about 200kms to the tank on the last ride. Also I reckon the XT needs Motard tyres for the tar, so much fun!
