Well I am sold on Dampers after two decent weekend rides with mine on the 690
Don`t consider myself even an average skill rider  but I can vouc not to mentionh for the extra stability of the front end and ass saving factor late on days 2 or 3 of a big rideCome to sandy stuff and wind the dial up with a quick flick and rest easy on the way through
Very versatile in all conditions, once you dial it in nad get familiar with the settings, it`s easy as eating a sandwich :laugh:March 22, 2013 at 10:47 am #238632i would much rather fit air bags to the bike,,

Dampers don`t deflate when you land on them though mate
March 22, 2013 at 12:44 pm #235897So It seems from my survey that steering dampeners could help your riding experience. And I have also discovered that one old bull could in fact be a bit of a comedian.

So what I am really asking is….are they something that will help the novice, average or pro rider??Yes Aaron is the answer the 2005 four day was what convinced me. As I walked Parc Ferme it seemed every bike had one. I thought with that many people using them they must work and do.

March 23, 2013 at 3:44 am #235898sounds like you’re having fun in the shed Rach.
Does your bike header pipe get hot? I’m looking at getting this for my bike
Sick of burning the inside of my leg! It burn clean through my new pants the other day.
I can highly recommend this book too.

March 23, 2013 at 7:29 am #235900Hi Rach,,sorry about that earlier post that I put up,,I dont remember that one,,too much sauce that night I think. I’m realy not like that at all
Old girl the 310 is a bugger for burning pants, those carbon fiber header gards look like the go,but can be a real mud colector. The guy that I got mine off made up a good one,If you can get hold of something like this,it works realy well,no burnt pants yet.
Cheers Teza.
March 23, 2013 at 8:21 am #238650Thanks for that I have a small guard on there. But I burnt my pants just in front of where your guard stops would you believe. I know exactly where bc part of my pants are still melted onto it  .
Interesting point about the p3 being a mud collector…..they’re pretty pricey too.
March 23, 2013 at 11:10 am #238651P3 (pirie Products) make good gear, highly recommend you go thru the Aussie distributor tho (Trooper Lu) as P3’s customer service is woeful, like 8 weeks and several e-mails to get a pipe guard for the GG

March 23, 2013 at 9:57 pm #235901Yeh, I was in at Trooper Lu’s last week, and they had em in stock for the 310,,,might be worth the drive.
March 24, 2013 at 12:16 am #235902Well this is what I did to my pipe yesterday
While I have gotten my pants burnt on it before, they have never melted onto it until yesterday as you can see.
My poor bike needs some TLC!
March 24, 2013 at 3:08 am #235903snap Rach! mine looks the same.
Went for a ride this morning and melted my BOOT!! to the metal gaurd on the pipe! Looks like I’m off to Trooper Lou’s this week.
What bike did you have before the KTM? I’m finding that the 310 is taking some of the ‘fun’ out of bush bashing bc I’m finding it a bit tricky to ride.
I have only been out with it twice so I’m still getting to know Antonio
March 24, 2013 at 4:32 am #235904My pants never actually burnt against the pipe until i bent the pipe in yesterday
Pretty sure if i had pipe guard on it, it would have smashed anyway so glad i hadnt spent the $$ on that yet.
The KTM (Mr Dirty
) is my first dirtbike and i LOVE it :woohoo: Took a few hours in the seat to really get a feel for it but now I am starting to feel right at home on it. I am sure it wont be long before you feel more comfy with Antonio
Just make sure you are having FUN :woohoo:
