August 17, 2009 at 10:27 pm #148679Just like to say it was a great effort by TB, Dand, Boulder to organise the ride and do the pre running.. Considering the amount of riders, It went really smooth and the group moved along really quick.
Great to put faces to names and meet a few more bulls, Also great job by chris72a for the photo’s…
Apart from the dust, a top day out…
Can’t wait for the next big ride!:woohoo:

August 18, 2009 at 9:31 am #148759Great ride guys (and girls)
well organised (Preriding really showed results), good photos
Random notes in no order:Who was on the yamaha emerging from the abyss on one of the transport sections? All I remember is someone indicating to slow down, then round the corner a blue bike coming in from the greenery… (reminded me of the big bore 2 stroke days)
Damn decreasing radius corners on many transport sections – we’re lucky we lost only two riders – some roads would have been much faster in reverse
DUST? is someone training for finke next year? why wasn’t a sprinkle of rain ordered for saturday? (Don’t tell me there was no control over the weather – I want solutions not problems damn it!). It made me really appreciate the finke racers and the bitumen sections really had me thinking about the isle of man tt racers…
The old dude on the air cooled yamaha – IF i have to change fork seals so should he (Old AL???) top work on the ride fella – gave me inspiration for the next few years.
To the girls – top effort – just remember to weight the outside footpeg through corners and nail it on the way out….
Hamburgers should have been advertised as a feed for two
Sixty wheels, 200+kms (against generally hard and rocky sections) and No punctures -pretty good strike rate there !

Great to see someone looking at the ride from out side the square. Good post 383hq!! TB puts a lot of effort into a ride and it is great to see peoples well thought out responses.

Anonymousi have heard that miss and mr novice have been off work getting x-rays. hope everything is good. i was worried when i saw miss novice lying motionless amongst the rocks. i would have run ahead and warned people of that sharp bend. but as i was sweeping, i was doing my job and in hope someone else had warned people.
if it is any consolation. miss novice went well on the dirt sections. climbing that long hill and only crashed on one of the road sections. maybe you should stay off the roads and come riding with us more.

AnonymousHey Champo, Mrs Novice is sore and sorry but was suffering from the flu as well and that is why she is not at work this week. I am going to ring her either today or tomorrow to check up on her. I think Novice did have X-rays but they were all OK.

I look forward to riding one of your rides that I can comment on when its over.

August 18, 2009 at 11:15 pm #148856You also failed to mention the areas that we put people on and danger taped for warning because they didnt have warning signs and wernt on bitumen.
If you dont like the way I run a ride dont come

It was unfortunate that Mrs Novice had an off but I don’t think that any amount of warning can stop these things happening sometimes. Lets just hope that her off doesn’t keep her away from riding for too long.
As a co-organiser of this ride, we done as much as possible to pre-warn everyone of any dangers on the track.

Calm down tb.
You take ownership of rides too seriously. You can’t be blamed if people fall off. Don’t be so emotional.I have seen others run wide on that corner and I was worried about tracy and others. You may have noticed that when I ride and come across a section that is more tricky than usual. i do a quick risk assessment. Just like you do. If i think people are at greater risk of getting hurt, I warn them. just like you do. I will continue to do this. if you want to ban me. go ahead.
I don’t think that you going on rides to criticise them for not being as good as yours is not what we want obt to be about
