Just picked up the new headlight system for the DRZ,, it is 1/2 the wheight of the standard one!

October 6, 2009 at 7:37 am #155386What exhaust are you going with Boony, I have a TK pipe on mine, there was a fairly big power drop when I fitted it until I did (read paid someone to do  ) the jetting modifications they reccomended. Sounds quieter as well I reckon, unless you take the bung out.
October 6, 2009 at 7:47 am #155404Barretts, and yeh we are rejetting,, Im not after the power,, just trying to get the wheight down to help with fatigue on long runs.. not to mention to round up the 450 quakas(again) and them KTM thingys

Banna here on the site has a DR400 that has everything done to it and he has spent thousands and it wouldn’t smoke a standard 450 they arent that sort of bike. And name it his bike has had it done, cams head work, more cams, dyno runs, exhausts, modified air intakes, cams, re-jetting, pistons, 440cc kit and more cams and dyno runs.
They are a heavy bike that’s life, the 4 to 5 kilos you would remove after spending some major bucks you will in my opinion not notice. Very sorry don’t mean to sound hard ol mateAs far a a pipe goes I fitted a Barrett to the project bike and am pretty sure I can get you a deal on one any colour you want as I have a contact I could call on when your ready and could even give you the jetting specs and part numbers to do the jetting yourself

Make sure you do a product review when the exhaust is fitted and any difference you feel it makes as an exhaust is my next wish list item.
October 6, 2009 at 10:28 am #155461Happy to get you a deal when the bank manager says so mate

we will be talking my man??
October 6, 2009 at 10:55 am #155465It would be nice to read just one thread that doesn’t have the phrase ‘man love’ in it. just one that’s all I ask.
Boony do what ever makes you happy with the DR. Don’t worry about techincal TB telling you will and wont work and weather it’s worth doing. If it makes feel like a better rider and a happier rider then it’s worth it.
October 6, 2009 at 10:58 am #155473First bit is fixed Mal

October 6, 2009 at 11:05 am #155477Boony all sounds well and good but you would have been better off putting that money towards an 08 wr250, I know someone who’s selling one

You didn’t have to fix it for me TB. Just that phrase seems to come up a lot.. 😆
And it’s a DR, most things are impossible. Let him chase a goal it’ll keep him busy.
