yeh mate you posted as I was writing:laugh: The jetting kit probably doesnt give it more power,it just makes it easier to start and the power is a lot more responsive. Also improves fuel consumption. During winter the engines of your bike will run leaner due to more air being available. so you use the blue tipped JD needle,In summer or on very high altitude there is less air available and the bike will run rich, you then use the alternate red tipped needle. Well worth the Coin, also a exteranal fuel mixture screw makes it easier to set it up just NOICE;)

Ollie give your self an uppercut (hang on sore finger) ok slap your self because you are making sense and we are not use to that here. Not privy to buying jets so apparently there colour coded(jetting for idiots) is that right??????

wont fit in my garage fella:laugh: Nah honestly mate its easier than it sounds, just ask Aaron, got his klx running sweet eventually. Give it a go,but remember to write down all your settings before tweakings so you can always go back.

hard to believe so much interest in this..must be plenty of secret admirers of the mighty DRZ.

    :)

but to reply to an earlier comment,
yes drz are heavy, but new bars and the risers gave a big difference to riding position, especially taller blokes.I`m nearly 6`2″ and it brings arm position up and forward, much more ergonomic.
I`m running motoz tractionator tyres with good results.
Also uprating forks and rear shock was my next move, just getting together money and finding right shop, seen somewhere on this site Jay Foreman in newcastle was mentioned..any comment on his work?

I think there is a timeing chain tenioner mod??
also a mate in Vic has one and on a cold winter morning sheared the plastic oil pump gear when starting it and when it fired he gave it a small rev then it started to rattle dont rev till it has warmed up

I’d be looking at the suspension first up. Most bikes can do with having it set-up for your weight style. The DRZ more so as the suspension is much softer from standard. This will make a big difference. Next would be a steering damper and then the exhaust stuff :)

Alloy bars comfortable grips and levers, good footpegs and suspension before any engine mods on a torquey little fourbanger.

Mate, I had Jay do the suspension on my DRZ and it changed the bike completely. I have still not ridden a bike that was so well set up, as in able to take the big hits without bottoming but still plush and DRZ-line in the initial stroke! It cost me $650 including postage which is cheap as chips. That got me new springs front and rear with revalving. I just told him what I weigh, how I ride and what I wanted out of it.

Cannot say enough good things about his work, give him a call for sure!
