Ok.. I need to have my valve seats done and new valves to get past the need to shim every 2500k

I plan on getting this done shortly after the Nabiac ride..

While I have it torn down I was wondering what everyone might think about having her honed and re-ringed? I know that it will be easier to tell once she is broken down however I was just wondering if anyone thinks, I mine as well go the one step further?

    Cheers…

It’s a question that can’t be answered because the are so many things you don’t know, I should have explained when I said before won’t know till it’s apart

What affects whats found when the head is removed

Previous owners maintenance practices (tipping they weren’t good cause the top ends worn out)

How long was it ridden dusted, maybe that’s why he sold it? It’s worn the face of the valves so again I am tipping it won’t have done the chrome face of the rings or cross hatch any favors. That said I have seen people get away with it a few times could when pulled down it’s fine. (chops didn’t really need it at 6000km but we did it because it was apart and seemed silly not to. It could have happily run it but didnt)

You don’t know how many klms or hrs its done (can you believe the guy or previous owners?)

Then I could find that it has a lip in the bore and honing will give it to large a ring cap when standard rings are used and needs boring. Oversize piston and rings required then. Bestvwait till it’s apart I think

How many K’s are on it Krusty? Mine is up to 13000 with no problems at all, I had the valves checked just after it hit 10,000 and they were still spot on.
