With a bit of inspiration from Scotty’s ride report I went for my first ride after the shoulder reconstruction today and it all went well.
Headed out from home on the tar and out through Dungog to Monkerai road which became gravel. Followed that for a while then turned on to Oak Gate rd (also dirt)and then onto Trevor Top Rd which was little more than a single trail in a few places (well not quite that bad, but it hasn’t seen much use by anything other than bikes for a while by the looks of it. A nice run it was too, heading up into the mountains for what seemed like forever before winding back down to the valley floor. From there I came to Cabbage Tree Rd which had a few nice (concrete) creek crossings and brought me back onto the tar.
I headed down to the Dam for a look see and a couple of piccies then headed for home. Made a slight detour on the way home through some bush just near Clarence Town that I know has some nice erosion mounds to play on.
There was some of this
A bit of this
All went well with one exception, can anyone see what is missing that was there in earlier photo’s?
Might even have to do it again through the week

Looks like you had a great ride mate with great weather too. Glad to see that you’re back on the bike. Good pics too.
The only thing is that riding through Barrington Tops reminds me of when I did my shoulder. Great place to ride though.
Cheers,
LeftyAugust 6, 2011 at 4:10 pm #206325Great to see your on the bike jeffro, hope the shoulder keeps getting better.
My cousin lives across the road from were you took one of those pics.
It’s a great area up there and one of our loved playgrounds, and Glen Charlton at Barrington Trail Tours is a credit to the area as he is a key part in protecting our sport in the barringtons.
Good stuff jeffroPTW

He must have been working then because there were about 8 or so utes and cars with trailers all with ramps hanging off the back of them.
