to light up reflectors at 1 klm . Maybe a new headlight is the go and be done with it , less
weight . Adventure moto has a bulb upgrade might check that out

    Thanks PTW :)

At this stage i am keen to whack it all on the bike just to get the feel of the ADV bike load. I am thinking the ride is going to be mainly open fire trails – right Eagle? If not, i might take you up on the offer for the swag. :)

Let me see…pair of fresh undies for after the ride with Eags and Bones, 6 pack for the trip, can of tyre weld and a swag. Yeah should all fit :silly: ;)

Happy for the early start Eagle…brrrrrrrrr  :S . You will have to give me directions to the convict wall. I will PM my mobile to you for future reference.

Cheers guys – 2 weeks to go :woohoo:

Yep, Mainly open fire trail with something of everything thrown in at times ,,,
Sandy bits, loose bits, rocky bits but all pretty easily doable on loaded bikes ;)

Mt Irvine loop can be slippery in the wet and it had eroded a bit the past year apparently. I did it with Dejay earlier in the year in the rain & fog and it was stil a hoot :)

Blackfellows Hand Trail has also copped a bit of use from 4x4s recently in the wet and was reported to be ruted and slippery by some that did it at Easter with an ORE ride to Hill End (I will dig up that report and post a link)

The Convict Wall is at the intersection of George Downs Dve & Old North Road mate,,, if you need a map link or something I can sort one out for ya ;)

    Cheers

(pretty much what we will be doing except the mud hopefully) only we will be departing from Blackfellows Hand Tail to the south and out near Lidsdale before the run over thru Portland ;)

There is a small fence with a sign posting the convict wall Ace, it is about 50m from the corner on the right , meet there off the main rd :)

I think there at 7am is ok at this stage, we have a small ride group so should be able to move along ok
Any thoughts or suggestions welcomed ;)

    Thanks guys.

I know the spot. Will take about 45 mins from mine. Settlers was the first ride i did when i picked up the new bike.

Yeah i might stay out of Blackfellows if its wet. TB i’d have trouble in that with off road tyres and 4 wheels :pinch: I will leave the trip planning up to you guys. Not sure of the off-road route but can’t wait to see what the day brings.

I know the route along River Rd, Dargle, Sackville Ferry, Colo etc etc if the weather is too snotty :(

I’m just looking forward to an all day ride and a day off work

I will try to grab my youny blokes go-pro unless you have one Eagle?

Bucketty is about 85k from my place and we will be coming thru the Watagans in the early light to get there ,,,

Nah I don`t have a camera mate,, feel free to bring one and capture some footage and some laughs :)

We will watch the weather closely on the week buildup to see how it might be on Blackfellows ;)
If we have to miss it, it will cut some time off the run to Sunny Corner, but I would like to do the loop if possible

Suck it & see on the day, whatever happens we will have fun I`m sure ;) ;) ;)

    Cheers

BTW, Looks like I now have PTW on the saturday ride and the home leg on the Sunday
    AWSOME :woohoo:

Hey Eags, I will have a look at the Blackfellows Hands track on the wednesday before for you. The last time I went through it was fine. The first half is like a highway now with heaps of trucks using it.

Ace, you’ll be fine throught BF mate. Me and the girl rode two through there a few times on the orginal Beener slicks. We stuck to the major roads though. Not sure which way TB is taking you from Clarence.

Straight onto the BF mate, just dirt roads. I was on a ride with Salina on the NX with you and the Don it was wet and you Aced it through there (no bun intended  )

Thanks Mal. Yeah no probs. I’m not too concerned as long as it isn’t steep(up) and muddy. I’ve tried that in the Wato’s and got stuck  I’ve tackled the section off Tobins Rd etc a few times with success and it’s been real shitty.

Thats the thing about the original slicks though – they sell them as road/trail but the simply ain’t

I just got the Perelli Adventure trail on the front last week. It sells as a 95% road – 5% dirt? I say when your in the dirt…it’s 100% dirt

Don’t be too concerned though Eagle, i’ll try not to slow you down too much :P
