June 2, 2012 at 8:36 pm #223097Well Unfortunately the weekend festivities were cancelled while I was enroute to the location
So I camped out anyway to make use of my 3 days off .Had a ride out to Hill End on Saturday for a pub lunch then returned to the campsite. Met some other like minded ADV riders on the road to Turon Gates , two of them being Wolfman Steve & Clubby from Trailzone magazine . Really nice guys they are to
So I stuck with them for a ride and a chat over lunch !!! Really good day it was .
I had another long wet ride home today (5.5hrs of rain actually) :pinch:
Might load up a GPS track later and recount some of my trip for ya 44
Track log here http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=1608638Cheers
June 2, 2012 at 10:31 pm #223118Just worked out that I did around 1300k in the 2 & a half days , no wonder I was cold today & a bit stiff now
My route took in some of the Watagan Mountains (in the pitch blackness)
Bucketty to St Albans & Wisemans Ferry, Wheelbarrow Ridge Trail, Upper Colo & Comleroy Rd, Mountain Lagoon to Bilpin, Mt Irvine trail, Blackfellows Hand Trail, then Portland to Sunny Corner SFOn Saturday was Sunny Corner Rd, Cupitts Lane, Mt Horrible (which was slippery as buggery & HORRIBLE)
Palmers Oaky Rd, thru Turon Gates to Capertee for fuel.
THen Mt Vincent Rd at Running Stream to Ilford, Crudine Rd to Aarons Pass and down to Hill End for a burger Pub and a beerHad to cut back before Sofala and do some back roads including some blacktop because poor Bender threw a Countershaft sprocket bolt & was immobilised :S Needing a recovery by trailer from the Wolfman.
Damn, the blacktop run from out near Bathurst was a killer in the blasting rain and I haven`t been that cold in a long time  (Since the Caves to Caves ride actually)Today was a cold blacktop run to Bilpin over the mountains before retracing the route from friday on the dirt to The Putty Rd where I said goodbyes to Amy & Bones who decided to follow me this morning
So the rest of the way I was riding solo solo solo across the wet dirt trail back up to the Watagans and home to a well earned hot half hour shower :woohoo:I reckon after not having one for the past 3 days, I had earned the right to a good one

No wuckers Teza,,,We had a ball really, despite the wet from sat arvo thru till I got home yesterday about 2pm
Bones, Amy & Ace seemed to really appreciate the trails & dirt roads I led them along on the friday. I had done them all before but it took a few little stops & turn arounds to keep on the corect route
I had been 3 yrs since I had done BHT and out towards Portland,,, other than in the car last yearCheers Man
