October 15, 2011 at 1:50 pm #201430With the upcoming trip to Nundle via Wauchoppy I decided I better get my backside into gear and do some maintenance.
So this morning the steed has had –Check Headstem bearing play, Tick
Coolant replaced , Tick
New Oil/ Liquid Gold, Filters & Oil screens, Tick
Rear wheel removed ready for the new Supersprox Sprocket (ordered from Scotty at Suttos), Tick
Front sprocket removed ready for new front from Suttos, Tick
New chain ready to go , Tick
Front bearings checked when I rotated tyre the other day, Tick
Lube various other moving parts, Tick
Wound up all the clickers to compensate for the gear, TickNow to clean & check the chain guides so all is clean & ready to go back together
That ought to do it for today It`s too nice a day to spend it all in the shedOctober 15, 2011 at 8:25 pm #201431Well I just couldn`t stay out of the shed after the MotoGP was over,,,
Replaced Spark Plug, Tick
Removed and Tefgelled the Chain adjuster bolts in the swingarm, TickI remember Mick having all sorts removing his on the XR a while back :S SO better safe than sorry down the track
Damn I had some fun cleaning all the chain guides as the previous owner had used excessive lube on the chain I reckon, and the crap was gunked thick in all the grooves etc & black as the ace of spades
I had noticed it before, but was waiting to run out the sprockets & chain before the big cleanup anyway ,,,New sprockets should arrive early this week and thats it, Job Done
Bring on NundleOctober 25, 2011 at 11:58 pm #201432So the new Stealth Sprockets turned up the other day & went on , nice gear and should be good for plenty of k`s
Today I ordered a new Pirelli MT21 rear for the weekend trip to Nundle
sitting here waiting till tyre arrives tomorrow :laugh:Also borrowed an Airhawk 2 seat from MickP to test out, which fots well (as tested by Mick many times before)
Looking forward to some good rides now , starting this friday :woohoo:October 26, 2011 at 12:04 am #210965Hey Eags
Sorry, but you need to replace the chain with a GOLD one to match the bling sprocket
Just doesn’t look right.Mickp
October 26, 2011 at 12:07 am #201433Yeah, that was the idea Mick, but that is what the shop had at the time (gold out of stock)

I had to be real careful where I parked it, especially on uneven ground which is a pain in the rear :blush:SO today I hacked 15mm off the end & re welded to baseplate back on.
Easy job really (if you have a welder at home)
That`s how boring my day was actually, sitting around most of the day resting the ankle (RDO`s are grouse sometimes) No kids or missus here all day either,,, just me, the dog & two budgies
I missed this post sorry eags  You should have swaped yours with the one off Micks BRP it almost falls over on the low side. I think he has put a 2 inch lift kit under it or something????
