Well late yesterday evening the Minister for War & Finance told me to get out of the house for a half day ride as she was feeling a tad better after having a rough week from her Chemotherapy treatment,
I needed to be told only once, as this wasn`t related to any house chores  and it would also give me a great chance to finally get out to Yellow Rock, which I had failed to find last ride due to running out of time & daylight.

Made a call to hit Millfield for 8-8.30 am for a coffee, which hit the spot after a freezing run over the Sugarloaf Range and 30 klms of peasoup fog and around 8 degrees temp.
And for the record, it was a Cappucino (Not a LATTE) and a Vanilla Slice that I had already consumed before grabbing a pic :P

Then headed out to the intersection of Wollombi & Cedar Creek Rd then up into the mountains to find the trail head that leads onto one of the many ridgelines , the question was , which one leads to Yellow Rock ?
I was in luck and in for a treat today, as the first one I took was indeed the right one.
I was greeted beautiful warm winter sunshine with this for a view B)

The valley far below was full of fog which was going to take some time to clear, so I decided to just hang about, have a good look around and grab some pics.

This Bloke kept getting in the way of the pics (thanks to timer option on the Nikon) :silly:

After a couple of hours, I headed back along the ridge and poked the 690 down some more trails off to the left & right, but all ended up being too overgrown & disused and not giving access to any better views due to the massive trees that have grown on the sides of the escarpments.

Then I took a leisurely run back down the mountain and took a few pics at the creek and crossing on Sawpit Rd and the old timber bridge near Wollombi Rd.

All in all a fantastic morning run that got me to where I wanted to go, great views, beautiful stress free silence and was still home for a 12.30 lunch.
    Am I happy ? Damn oath I am :) :) :) ;)

Yellow Rock is a good spot for exploring with a rope or two I think Wigster
I hope to get up there for a couple of overnighters in the warmer weather too, hint hint

The Mrs is actually on hospital alert at present as her blood cell count has plummeted and she is at risk of infection. Happened late yesterday when blood test results hit the Oncology docs desk. Thank god I had already jammed that ride in

She is doing ok, just finding the uncertainty from day to day a bit of a bummer at present mate ,
Gets the head shaved on Tuesday and wig fitted, decided not to wait for it to fall out in the next week anyway

    Cheers
