We had to change our plans for Easter, we had planned to head up Wauchope way but things had to be changed. So Champo and Tracy arrived down at our place last yesterday arvo (Good Friday)
So this morning with light drizzle falling we left home panniers packed for an overnight stay. We traveled out through the blue mountains to Mt Victoria, we pulled up just down from the pub for the girls to add some clothing as it was pretty cool. I accidentally parked in a driveway, Salina hopped off and a woman came out and started telling me it was a driveway, and that they would be going out shortly / later, I said OK sorry but the Salina was only putting a neck roll to keep her warm. The woman started going off, so as I was sitting on the bike I hit the button and moved the bike, but whilst I was moving the bike Tracy tried to explain to the woman that we would be of in a minute. Well the woman just cut sick, she was swearing yelling, said she was going to call the cops it was funny to watch Tracy make friends
We traveled down through Hartley Vale and on towards Lithgow, just before we found a dirt road and followed it up to the top of the hill and found an awesome cliff top over the valley
Champo and Salina
Salina was the only one that walked out on this little piece sticking out
Looking back up towards the bike
Girls with the Bikes
We left and rode out the Newnes, some of the sites on the way out the Newnes
It was the best place and plan on going back soon to check out the industrial ruins, camp and visit the glow worm tunnels.
The Old Hotel
We crossed the river, it was a sandy river bed and was tough going, here’s Champo ding the job
Girls had to walk the stepping stones
We left there and went to Wallarang for lunch, two pubs and no counter lunches, so it was down to the take away for some burgers, the rain had been drizzling all day around us but we had stayed pretty dry.
We left and worked our way over through Rydal to Hampton Pub for some chips and gravy and a bundy. From there we went over through cox’s river and across the great western hwy up through Hartley Vale again and onto the Darlington Causeway. We jumped onto the railway service line and traveled across to Bell, from the there onto the Bells Line road to Richmond for fuel.
After we fueled we sat for a while and rode home in the rain and the dark.
362kms all up, great day and am getting ready, weather permitting will don some of the same tomorrow

April 11, 2009 at 12:53 pm #128715Looks like a great ride TB. Nices pics too.
Wang haven’t had counter lunches on weekends for years.. don’t know why
The Coronation Pub at Portland does nice meals all week and I think Rydal does meals all week too.
You gotta watch them moutain people, they get on the herbal tea and lentils early in the morning and then go spastic for the rest of the day.

April 11, 2009 at 10:16 pm #128720Oh well next time mate.
How do the girls go on the back of the bikes doing that many Kms? I’ve been thinking about an adventure style bike for me and Donna to get out on. Just for day trips like this one.
“all the internet cafes in wang were busy”   Classic

salina, the less experienced of the two, got a little tired towards the end.

Sounds like a choice ride, but why dont you share the mad woman’s address with us and we can all go park there for 2 mins and then move off, TB you got to get a way for you guys to talk to each other, when my missus used to ride with me it was the only way to go,
April 11, 2009 at 11:13 pm #128724Yeah am working on it Rat, only done 4 rides together and have been spending money on helmets and tyres to be safe first

AnonymousNice to see you guys having a good time. At least it only drizzled and yopu didn’t get soaked. The pub at Newnes looked cool
April 12, 2009 at 4:47 am #128730Wouldn’t hurt to whack an OBT sticker on their front fence just so we know when to ‘break down’ each time someone is passing by
Carn TB give it up! I’m going past there on Monday
I dunno how you blokes can ride those big things! Looks like a nice trip for a car though!
April 12, 2009 at 8:42 am #128744This morning was a late start, we had brunch (Yuppies) then a quick trip to Parramatta (dont ask TB’s stuff up) We came home and kitted up, we headed out to the National Park and traveled out to the portal lookout
Views over Penrith
Girls at the sign board
Racey Tracy & Champo at the lookout
We rode for a while through the Park, all dirt roads until we found a road leading to the Aboriginal carvings, it was a long way down as well, we then parked and walked down to the paintings (20 mins round walk) No photos of the paintings as they are behind a perspex wall
The walk out of the paintings
Champo doing his blue steel look??
Back through the park we fronted another lookout
The girls talking about who knows what
Champos crack
Champos Blue steel look again
We left the national park and rode out the Warragamba Dam and had a look around and tried some power line service tracks back towards Penrith, we then took some bush tracks home
We forgot to take a picture going up this hill
Team NX
The power of the NX
See Ya

April 12, 2009 at 9:23 am #128711Top stuff there all.
Love this type of stuff, the scenery, the adventure, the controversy of blocking people’s driveways and the stories
Keep them coming
Garry
April 12, 2009 at 9:47 am #128759I was up in the National Park on Friday on my orange bike. I could show ya some good single track through there. May get in a bit of trouble on motor bike though, think it about a $11000 fine.
