April 7, 2009 at 11:13 am #128412Quote:G,day Moto,
How late a start you looking at for friday?I haven’t given it much thought to be honest but I could quite happily go out at 9:00am onwards. I will be coming down from Nelson bay so don’t won’t to go to early. If lotsa and Justo are happy to go later that’s fine with me.
Lotsa/Justo – What say thou’?

9am is good for me. Where are we meeting?

AnonymousOkay, to ensure everyone has time to get there we will say 9:30am ready to ride. We will leave from our camp area at Lemon Tree then and go expolore some tracks. Saturday will be a more formalised loop. Lotsa, you can lead a loop on Saturday if you’re keen?
For the sake of doing so I’d bring a jerry can of fuel so those who are camping can fuel up for the start of the Saturday ride. As I don’t know exactly where we are going on the Friday I have to say the ride grade maybe 4/5/6 at times as we are exploring some new tracks. As mentioned before though, if anyone struggles we will give assistance. We have a pretty small group so this is easy to do.
We are camping in a private field (we have permission) so there are no shower or formal toilet facilities just to let you know. the nearest shops are a little way away too so you will need to bring some snags/bread for dinner, some water and some beers (if you choose).
I’ll try and get maps sorted.

AnonymousOkay to get the camping area you need to turn off Hue Hue Rd (near the F3 Freeway at Wyong) and onto Jilliby Road. Follow Jilliby road for several Km’s. The camp ground is around approximately 3-4Km’s past the old Dooralong lodge.
The road rounds a left hand corner, goes slightly down hill and over a (very small) bridge before the road turns from tar to gravel. As soon as the road turns to gravel look to the field on the left just, that’s where we will be
If you go too far on the dirt road you will round a right hand corner and see a road on you left called Phil Tunks Rd. You’ve gone 200m too far
If you type lemon tree into Google maps it pinpoints the intersction of Jilliby road and Phil Tunks Road as desciribed above
List of atendees is as follows:
1. Moto
2. Matt
3. Lotsa
4. Justo
5. LC4Skin
6. LC4Skin’s Bro’

AnonymousSweet, see you there Twobanger!
Holeshot is coming on Friday and will bring a +1 for the Saturday ride. He knows some tracks around that way and has all his rides recorded in his GPS so will come for a burn too
List now looks a little something like this:
1. Moto
2. Matt
3. Lotsa
4. Justo
5. LC4Skin
6. LC4Skin’s Bro’
7. Twobanger (Friday only)
8. Holeshot (both days but not camping)
9. Holeshot +1 (Saturday only)
10. Anton? (Saturday only)Just to reiterate that there could be some hard stuff on the Friday loop as I don’t know 100% where we are going (although I have some ideas and will use the experience of the guys turning up too). Saturday will probably be an easier grade 3/4 ride witha stop somewhere for food and a beer.
It will be good if my knee holds up
April 9, 2009 at 1:24 am #128513I would be keen for the Saturday ride mate, 9.30 ready to ride as long as I find it ok.
