if i lived in the city and had a short commute i’d have a motard in a heartbeat.

i reckon if they had solar charging stations, low or NO rego fees , it would be a winner.

less mid to bigger cars in the cbd. more parking spaces.

hmmm now that’s enough of that!!! i sound like a greeny!

now to knock another baffle out of my muffler:P ;)

Its all on the way. The electric charge grid is being done now by an Aussie consortium..funny how they get to go to Europe and do an install there first. Those Bikes by Zero have a 4hr run time @ 80kph. Dont know about your states but here in QLD we are loosing much to bikes because of NOISE. the area where we hold the Brissy leg of SX/MX Xtreme is not up for renewal to the sport. Means that there is now NO plans for thsi in the Brissy area anymore.BECAUSE OF NOISE. KTM are doing the Christin wheel thingy..2wd bikes in comp. With a spare batt.pack, the Zero can do a hot change quicker than you can refuel…No bike onthe market(dirt) can match the torque they deliver from start of throttle.Wont be long and these will be pushed as the ” motorcycle” of the age(Glob.warm..etc) One group have converted CRF450’s over to Twin elec motors..they run them hard. I’d give one ago tomorrow if they were selling them here. never no if you dont give it a go.

As mentioned I’d give it a go. But when you look at the specs for the current unit as per your link it takes 8 seconds to get to 56 mph :( I don’t know how fast my bike would do it but my car does 62mph in 5.7 and my bike is definately quicker than my car.

I agree though, they are more than likely the future…..

The greenies will still bash them,
I have read complaints about mountain bikes allegedly trashing trails somewhere, you know when you ride on wet trail and the tire slightly sinks in, then track drys out and ridge of tire is imprinted.
They would be mad to ride, i saw a clip on you tube with an electric drag bike like a harley looked quick.
    I would need a new name though……..

i would like to have a squirt on one….

it would be strange to fly through the bush in near silence, making my own 2 stroke noises..ding, ding, bannnned…
and you could yell stuff to your mates and they would actually hear you.

youd have to love the serenity.

i wonder if they would be totally submergable. it would be cool doing a river crossing with just your helmet out of the water….or a snorkel for the more adventurous types!!

what about down at the beach, roosting around on the seafloor with a scuba tank… launching over coral, roosting any approaching sharks or giant squids…..B)

ahhh, the possibilities are endless:woohoo: :woohoo:

Waste of time I think, unless the electricity comes from a fuel cell.
