Just recieved tis message on facebook from Emu Creek.

URGENT NOTICE – CLIENTS PLEASE READ!

Due to Tenterfield Council recently imposing unrealistic sound restrictions and limiting operating hours on our business – it is NO LONGER viable for us to accept MOTORBIKES at Emu Creek Extreme Retreat, we are very sorry to say.

As a Park who has always promoted and operated a safe, legal and responsible riding venue, this is a very harsh outcome for us.

PLEASE NOTE 4WD are still accepted!

For those booked in at Easter with bikes, we will endeavour to call you this week and let you know the situation.

As you can appreciate, we are extremely busy re-organising our business at this time. Please understand that we cannot necessarily take your phone calls right now. We aim to keep you everyone up-to-date via Facebook and our website.

We will post a detailed update of what has occured in the near future.

    Kind Regards, Blair & Melly

    Cheers Gordo’

And they wonder why some people take to the bush unregistered? Hopefully they can strike a deal with the local council to get some kind of permit together?

Haven’t been there but I’m thinking someone has complained.
I agree NATO, thought council was there to serve the public ???

Must be some good drugs where you are h… No Council I deal with ever works on that principle! “Serve the public”!?! Or was this post meant to go in the Jokes thread!? :silly:

Shame, it isn’t the first instance I’ve heard of where a bike park has been affected or closed down by Council red tape.

It only takes one Dickhead neighbour to make complaints to stuff everything unfortunately :pinch:

I feel for the owners of the property and wonder what overall percentage of their intake came from bikes opposed to 4×4`s ??

Could be a make or break decision, then again, they may thrive and get more campers frequenting the place once word is out that bikes are a “NoGo” :whistle

Wonder if they should but a fleet of Electric KTM Freerides and let them cut sick noise free !!!
That could be a winner

Unfortunately the neighbor who is causing the problems is a former employee of the site before the current owners decided to run it all themselves, ( vested intrest ).

The last few years they have been becoming more and more bike orientated.
