    I picked up some Endura lemon/lime flavour from Mal at Sutto’s while I was up there the other day, thanks Mal, so here is a review.

    Price:
    As you know mal looks after old bulls, so the price was good, although at the original price it is dearer than gatoraid, poweraid etc.

    Instructions:
    It says to mix 1 flat scoop to every 200 mills water, My camel back holds 3 ltrs, so that 15 scoops. While mixing up I am thinking, this seems alot, but as I,m doing a review, I need to do it right.

    Taste:
    First and second mouthfull when mixing seemed strong but OK, but after the first 3 ltrs, it became a bit sickening, and there was no way I was going to mix the next lot that strong. 7 scoops in my next 3 ltrs and it tasted a lot better, but still a different type of taste.

    Performance:
    As a person who suffers from arm pump and cramps, all the time when riding, this was going to be interesting. The results – well I did not have any such issues over the entire weekend, so I would have to say it does what it is supposed to.

    Side effects:
    There could be other contributing factors in this catagory but it did seem to give me sum tummy rumbles, extra gas – but that can be a good thing 😆 😆 , and a little bit of the dredded runny bum in the morning :S :(
    I will have to do another ride using this product before I can confirm or deny that the endura was the cause.

    Summing up:
    The taste for me is an issue, maybe a different flavour would be better, but I think it did help with the cramps,arm pump etc, which it what it is supposed to do, so I would have to recommend it on that result alone.

    I used to use Endura too when on the MTB and it definitely helped me. It was the difference between finishing a ride and feeling tired and finishing feeling absolutely rooted.

    I wasn’t keen on the taste especially when it warms up in your camelbak and ended up switching to Staminade powder that you can buy from a supermarket. It seemed to do the same job and tasted a lot better, my mate who races in world level triathlons uses it so it can’t be a bad thing.

    I can’t comment wether it helps reduce arm pump though as the legs are more of an issue than the arms when riding a treadly. I can say it helped prevent cramps I used to get in my legs though.

    If you do suffer from cramps take some magnesium tablets a few days before a big ride (or a teaspoon of cement) which will help. Also foods rich in magnesium and natural sugars like banana’s are good.

    I have been taking magnesium tablets now it they have definately helped, I have also been hydrating more before riding

    Ecks recommended magnesium to me and I went out and bought the tablets and a powder but I can’t recall the name of it. Anyway I mix that into my camelbak and it has made a big difference for me.

    Does Sutto’s stock hammer gels? If not he should – I was seeing stars in the heat out one day when me and my bike were having a hard time and huskybloke gave me a hammer gel and within minutes I was a lot better.

    I try and not drink (alcohol) before a ride anymore but hydrating your body along with some good sleep is some of the best prep you can do so I’ve been told :)

    ‘Gu’ Energy gels can be bought at most MTB shops and are an instant hit of energy much like the ‘hammer gels’ are. They should be taken before you hit the wall but will help if you’re already there.

    i use endura magnesium rehydration flued in lemon and lime helps stop arm pump for me and don t seem to get as saw afterwords .but just drink a couple of scoops before a ride and than some afterwoods (it said on instructions only 4 scoops max a day)dont like puting it in my camal back as it makes it go fury to lazy to clean it out just tank water for me thanks in there .tasts okay to me but not drinking it all day :laugh: it definatly helps with cramps B) single track mind put me on to it works for me ;)
