    :(

Would there be any interest in my much loved 640? Trouble is what is she worth? I see a few on evilbay and the like asking top dollar, but are they actually selling for those prices?

At the moment I can’t afford to trade her in on a new or even a good second hand bike.

She has been neglected for the last 12 months, Due to circumstances, she hasn’t been ridden at all. :(

I haven’t even been able to fix the headlight since bago with mick D and dickie.

Good points! The suspension has been done. Springs and valving to suit 180kg load.
Only 15000km. Muffler, airbox mod and jets. Seat recovered with 2 inches added.

Pivot pegs. Heavy duty s/s sopkes from USA but not yet fitted. All swingarm and wheel bearings done .

320mm front disc, trailtech speedo. B n b speedo eliminator and bash plate lots of bolts have been replaced with s/s socket heads.
    Brand new rear dot knobby.

Sad points. The plastics are showing their age. And all crashes have been documented here.. :P

I’d be interested in swapping for a smaller bike to the same value.

Hey Drew, There is one on bikesales for $3750 (2003 model) which is the cheapest that I can see. The 640 adventures are pulling (asking) ridiculous coin. There is a couple of factors to consider.

    1. You live in a fairly remote area and that in itself can make it hard to sell
    2. to get the best return for your coin,it needs to look the goods,no-one will even consider a second look if it has bits and pieces hanging from it.
    3. It is setup for 180 KGs do you still have the original springs ?
    4. Have you considered parting it out (PITA and a shame really to see this happen to a basicly good bike)
    5. You could try Gumtree and ask for a swap for a 450 or whatever it was you were considering
    6. Rego ? does it have any
    7. receipts and spares, the more the better
all of these points need to be considered, I would recommend you get her spiffy then post up some photos and ask for a reasonable price you might get lucky

    Good luck with it

    Thanks Ollie.

I didn’t mean that k8ii would be on offer as is, current condition is just some background info. And a little bit of the reason why I’m considering putting her up for adoption.

She is due for reg now. So is the car…. Plus I’m in melb studying, and no room to store here and fix in my spare time.

Yeah I have the original springs, muffler etc .
