I agree STM however the only problem with this can be when you ring them up and someone else answers. I rang Boulder one day and when Clare answered I had to say ‘Can I please speak to Boulder?’ because I didn’t know his real name. I know it now but I didn’t then. Clare however knew exactly who I wanted and she put Boulder straight on but I still felt really odd asking for him like that

You raise a good point Princess :P and it is only when OB’s meet in the flesh and intro themselves with their real names that it gets confusing. Your user name on the site should be your name on your rides…

WOW stm i was going to call her “princess” but thought i may have gotten a virtal slap 😆

As for the names on your bikes i’m going to be doing that now i think[/quote]

No no Corey. As I said it doesn’t worry me on the site or even if I get called that on rides, which I have. Just don’t change my username.

Mine is a simple anagram of my real name. Axel is Still a real name and a missspelt motorcycle term obviously.

once upon a time a young hansom bloke thought he’d finally join a forum to gather information regarding the much beloved make of car he had grown up to appreciate as the best in the world.

( all be it his own deluded little world )

he joined up with a handle that would easily identify him with what model car he had most intention of gathering the most information on.

JG41XYGS was borne! now the site was an American site that had an Australian section to discuss the Aussie specific cars.

that was ok but not enough members to gather info form a wide section of input.

so i googled and found an Aussie site dedicated to the Blue Oval monstrosities.

They have a BIKE section too!!!

a top bloke in Adelade was posting that he was running a 245 car tyre on his RocketIII. and got poo hooed by those that “know” better.

i put some info out there about Goldwing rider’s using car tyres. and that the guy was saying he used the car tyre to fix his needs and that he was not saying Everyone Has to run car tyres too.

others debated that sports bikes handle funny when the tyre sqaures off, i posted that the dicussion was not about sports bikes.

a moderator that was flaming others and my self got told that he had better pull his head in or he could turn members off using their site.

But not in those exact words/ terms

needless to say i got voted off the island, had my torch extinguished and never returned to the site, well i tried to sign up with another name but i have since learned that they block your IP address.

Anyway to drag out a short story :woohoo: :silly: i googled again and found another Aussie site dedicated to the Ford banner ( which i found out a certain Vicco moderator is a member of too but i won’t name him :P ) and i was now after info on transit vans too and did not wish to be recognised from the other site as a poo stirrer i came up with xy-transit.

hence it is the handle i signed up to ThumperTalk with as well, then Micknmeld invited me to join this site from the Aussie section of TT.

by this point in time i had learned some do’s and don’t s of forum life.

and i have haunted here ever since! :woohoo:

and if Mick dose not regret it i bet there are times when others would question his judgement in doing so!

and that brings us to today.

why have i written a novel about my user name?

to punish Mick for having the onset of dementia and forgetting someone already started a thread with the exact same intent.

and HE Just Could not update that thread for the newer members, HE Had to go and have a thread all of his own!

okay now that you have fallen asleep on your keyboard,

End of story. well mine anyway :silly: :silly: :silly:

Mine is quite innacurate these days but about 7 years ago I was looking at buying a blue honda S2000 and when I was looking into it I found an international S2000 site and signed on as Austblue because the car I was looking at was blue :(

I sold the car about 5 years ago but over the time I had it I became the community organiser for the Australian arm and I suppose for consistency I’ve continued to use it since even though it doesn’t make sense anymore! Trouble is after all this time on computers I have no imagination to speak of and can’t be arsed thinking of something new :p

I owned a 1981 KLX250, I’ve never owned another kawasaki since, although my wife did own a highly modded ex superbike ZXR750J2 that came in at under 180kg which was a fun bike.
But personally never owned one since.
