I can help lead Jeffro, I know my way from Lavis to Anna Bay. Just head North :D I can take people through the dunes on a mix of faster flatter stuff and through the dunes themselves too. Probably even find Tin City where they filmed Mad Max if we’re lucky.

Thanks Moto, I know how to get there on the dunes, just thought there are supposed to be some cool single trails behind them.

I will have to sneak up there during work time when the date gets closer to see if they have opened the dunes back up to traffic.

Ummmm….you might want to watch the singles. I know where they are, have ridden most but aren’t really sure I could lead a ride through them much less want to either.

They mostly concist of massive whoops, ranging from deep to very deep and spaced apart at difefrent distances. They are not easy to ride and don’t give you a break whatsoever, I’m rooted after riding them for 5 minutes.

If you want to take a group there I can show you a good place to start riding them, a good portion are just off the powerline track. We could even go to Murray’s brewery :D

Yeah Moto I had been on ones like that at the Anna bay end but didn’t know if they were that bad all the way. I had the video going last time there and stopped when I was nackered, when I checked the video it was only about 6 minutes I had been on them.

They do go farther South, you can do the ‘up and down’ section next to the road for a few Km’s then join in farther down, that’s where I don’t know my way real well. The tracks there are better but it’s easier to get lost and go in cirlces, I’ve only ridden in that section once with Diddel and we both rode round in circles!

We’ll have to do an exploratory ride and try and sort a loop for later in the year if you’re keen. The above tracks are still quite tiring but they follow those concrete tank trap blocks for a bit which is quite cool. Gets very spidery in the warmer months too, I made Diddel go in front and he was covered in them!!

Yeah I rode them a few years agon and had spiders everywhere, I went to Salamnder Shopping Centre and when I pulled my helmet off there was a huge Orb Weaver on the back of it.
I hate spiders and was worried one would get inside my jacket and then start biting me if it got stuck. :D That’s why I nave never been back, can’t even remember where I went in.

    Hey Jeffro,
Are we still go for the ride? and are the singles sand as i can get hold of a paddle tyre for a laugh but theres not much point if the singles are dirt!

Singles are sand. Not as deep as the dunes but a paddle will be alright in there. If transporting down the powerline track though the paddle might be a bit, errrr, bumpy!

I don’t think they’re needed anyway, once you’re up and running a decent knobbie run at 3-5psi is fine. I’m gunna still be running the mousse in mine, 13psi

At this stage Wazzup it is still on. I will make a final call once I know the dunes are open for businaess again. Last weekend access was to the beach area only.

You better shit two bricks Mick :cheer:

Someone told me the other day that Stockton was closed because the big swell uncovered some Aboriginal artifacts or something.
Unconfirmed and I dont know if it meant to be the whole area or just a little section???
