Hello Fellow Dirt biker’s.
Well this year’s 2013 Face memorial ride week end was better than the last, it’s not really a 2 day week end more like 5 day Thursday to Monday big celebration party.
Stork & I partied hard Thursday night, that set the party atmosphere for the following days. Goodonya m8.
Friday, we went on a ride to Stroud pub (of course) being in celebration of Face.
As most of us were a bit dusty from the night before, the ride was at a slow pace, until we had a few beers at Stroud pud, then the ride pick up on the way back to Strike a lite.
When we got back to camp, the night before caught up with me so I went to bed at 6 pm. But not for long, at 8 pm Will, Pig & Robbo started shouting, “Peg are you awake” then stuck a joint in my swag, the fireworks started going off. No use staying in my swag with all the stuff going on. As the Friday night rolled on, cars, trailers, utes & bikes started to arrive. There was a convoy coming down strike a light road.
Saturday morning there were about 50 people at camp. 32 rides set of for the morning ride, leaving 12 rides & bikes behind who were unable to do the morning ride. You got to know your limitations and face memorial ride weekend is the place to find them.
Josh Reno took us on a ease morning ride, “so we were lead to be leave”, 500 meters down the trail turn right up up up the hill with lots of good anti erosion jumps. Along cabbage tree down Harvey’s trail, around a few endure o track then up a tight winging pinch and then over to saggers crk for a few more hills back to camp for lunch & refreshments. The arvo ride had 20 rides, more creeks few deep river crossings with longer & stepper hills. Got back to camp just before dark. The band started at dark. I don’t know how many people where in the band, as 1 band member stopped for refreshments another would take over. Thanx to Cory & everyone in the band for an excellent night. The band played from 6pm to 4 am. Lots of people, including me, had a sing with the band. Sharky sang back up to all there song. With a bellowing. Y,eehaaa. At the end of every song. Onya Will.
Josh, Storky and I continually let of fireworks all night. With the odd fire explosion or after burner going off. Saturday night, had the best time. I am still digesting what happened in my head. Fine myself sitting at home in the lounge, bang, remember stuff and burst out laughing. Just got into the swag Sunday morning, to the sound of bikes starting up and guys heading out for Sunday morning ride. People started coming alive around 10 am, packing up to leave. I left at 2 pm. The band liked strike a lite camping and the area that they decided to stay Sunday night. Am looking forward to next year. Regards Peg
