Dunno what model Honda it was, but it has been fitted with a 125cc china bike engine, the oil cooler is hanging by a bit of string under the fuel tank and it just flapped about , it had no air filter, the exhaust was held on with tech screws and the thing went like the clappers. It also had areally bizzare handle on the head set I presumed may have been some sort of steering dampner in a former life.
CT70, mid seventies era, handle thing you described may actually be the one that allows the handlebar (such as they are) to fold down and lock up. Seeing as many of the chinga motors are a direct copy of the honda laydown singles makes sense they’d be a bolt in.
As for the XL, my old man had a succession of XLs on the farm, and even with a headlight I preferred nightriding on my MXers….. XL350s…. Shudder……..XL500 with the “tuck under steering” Noooooooooo

Mr blue is it a CT70 or a Z50, I still can’t believe you can register a Z50.
May 18, 2011 at 11:05 am #201532It was too big to be a Z50, and the fuel tank that is on it is from a China bike and was also held on with orange baling twine.

CT70, wrong wheels and fram for Z-50, the ADrs were much easier back then, my uncle had a Z50 registered, parked alongside his panhead harley…….
One of my neighbours had a CT70 when I was a kid, a real no-where bike, the CT-90 was a better farmhack, and the Z50 was a better kids minibike.
they go forever except the rims quite often rust badlyMay 18, 2011 at 3:36 pm #156496A mate of mine has 29 Z50’s including an M series ( apparently rare ), most of them are in bits but 2 are rego’d and he also has a 40th anniversary one.
Z50 collectors are a different bunch. :side: :laugh:May 18, 2011 at 11:54 pm #201544We have a CT70 in the family from new in ’74. It has conventional forks. My guess is this old girl predates ours. Possibly even late sixties. Our one would have to have been in the thousands of hours. When my brother brought it back to it’s former glory the motor was absolutely shagged. There was nothing worth keeping from it. Under “tough” in the dictionary there’s a photo of a CT.

May 31, 2011 at 12:01 am #202243Not sure Mick but judging by the damage to the vinyl on the back of the seat Bollocks obviously parked his fat arse on it at some stage.
June 3, 2011 at 11:19 pm #156498Anyone a fan of old Lions??

June 4, 2011 at 11:54 pm #202518Today I was lucky enough to be invited on a north coast old bull ride from Yamba to Wooli and back by Phelixpremixer and Dupsyam. I knew the riding would be good but what I didn’t expect was to find a Metal artist !! Dups has a heap of very well made pieces and he’s obviously a top welder with a wild imagination.
His latest creation he knocked together in a day and his little girl loves it.I reckon the wrf engine would fit mate !!

I wish I’d taken photos of his full size predator , Ned Kelly and an awesome eagle. Next time !!
