    Ben Grabham out!!!

Ben hasn’t got to Finke after he cleared the last check point at Mt Squires.

Toby Price was the quickest to arrive at Finke by 10 minutes!!!!! 10 minutes!!!!!!! The only one to finish day 1 in under 2hours!

Jason Hill DNF’ed before the 1st check point!
    Phil Lovett finished in 73rd

The Bowen boys are still travelling. Scott is passed the final check point with only Finke to go.
Stuart may have had a little hold up after the 2nd checkpoint at Bundoomba (this is only provisional info – may just be slow updating the website) There still flying the OB flag!

    More later

ABC radio says Ben Grabhams has Ben’s bike was spotted parked on the side of the track 50kms from finke !! Ben was riding a 505KTM and Tony in his first ever Finke was on a 450.

    Just found this

Three time consecutive King of the Desert champion Ben Grabham from NSW was expected to cross first after making good time first off the start but he experienced mechanical problems 50 kilometres north of Finke and it has now been confirmed he has dropped out of the race

His Honda finished every year he rode one at Finke :P

 So now he only needs the pumpk into let him down in the Safari to top out three majors in the season,,, BAJA, FINKE,,,, SAFRI ????

Maybe he will then switch to TEAM GREEN

You can`t bag Pricey on his big lead on the Kato though TB, he rocks
TEAM KWAKA served him well last year :P

His back wheel on the kato fell apart in the safari they told us the public, so thats the safari, finke and baja technically speaking Beags.

Yeah Price and Wonka are rocking, obviously Toby’s first go at Finke will have been helped by being in a team with Wonka and Ben that experience shared with setup and pre running will have got him there. I am not meaning to detract from his performance but think things have to be put in perspective. Its a massive ride to be leading your first ever Finke good on him and his KTM 450

    Bowen Bro update

Scott got to Finke in 3hrs 31mins

But I think maybe Stuart ran out of time by not completing the down leg within 4 hours.

    Hope all is OK

Yeah, But he still completed the race , could be different this year , the Kato could suffer a failure proper is what I meant

    On the proper thread note,,,
    Well done to Scott ;)

    Great News!

Stuart reached Finke 3hrs 27mins after he started! To now be in 265th position for the run home tomorrow.

Won’t the brothers be playing mind games on each other tonight!

“I’m gunna hunt you down Stu, you won’t know when I’m comin’ around ya, you’ll get a sore neck from checking all day long!” says Scott.

“No Chance” replies Stuart. “I’ll be kickin’ up that much dust, the next time you see me I’ll be layin’ back, showered and sucking on a brewski – so dream on!”

Hammer Home Boys – Make sure there’s nothin’ in your tank when you cross the finish line!!!

It looks like Toby Price has toweled them up in his first ever finke, provisional results have him winning it by over 10 mins, it just goes to show that no matter what type of riding you do, if your good your good.

And he was on a KTM

I know Grabbos KTM broke down too TB, so shut up an orange bike still won it

Like LC said, it looks like TOBY PRICE has brained them in his first attempt at Finke……WELL DONE.

He was only a minute off Bennys quickest time down last year at 1hr 57mins yesterday and played it pretty cool today by coming home the same as the other first 4 or 5 in 2hrs 4minutes.

    GREAT EFFORT THE BOWEN BROTHERS

Stuart seems to have held his lead over Scott by only losing 2 minutes to him on the way back to Alice.

So, they have finished a brilliant 223th and 233th place (provisional, not official).

Stuart ended up beating Tuffy by 21 seconds.

Brad from Teknics finished a terrific 308th on the big bad 650.

Wonka DNF’ed on the big 505cc before the first checkpoint this morning.

Honda hope Chad Billet was going really well all the way home but it looks like the CRF has failed between the last checkpoint and Alice.

Jehi Willis DNF’ed too after passing 2 checkpoints on his 450 husky.

Yanky, Steve Hengeveld went really well on his CR250 to finish in 13th.

    AJ Roberts finished 17th

    So the Top Ten was:
    KTM450, KTM505, CRF450, CRF450, CRF450, CRF450, CRF450, CRF450, YZ450 & CR250.

Once again, GREAT EFFORT BOWEN BOYS, well done

So now it’s Hattah, the AORC and for a some, maybe the SA 24hr
    reliability trial
