this is on my bucket list, would love to ride in it but just going to watch in person would do, just to feel the atmosphere, maybe next yr

    #243539

Hey Wolfie a good alternative is to per ride the track on your bike and not race. Then watch the race and enjoy the atmosphere.

well done jimmy, Like Wolfie I also hope to complete the race 1 year, I have heard so crazy stories on total cost some saying between $6K-$10K!! is it really around that sort of cost?

    what is the entry fee?

I hope atleast to ride out there via birdsville , simpson etc next year and ride the track and watch the race and move to different choice viewing spots

any info / advice would be awesome

Starts with a $600 entry fee for bikes,,
MA Licence, ambo insurance, Health Insurance (all compulsory for entry)
Fuel, food, gear, bike prep stuff.
Plus getting there and back from wherever you reside ;)

motorcycling Australia license, you can buy 1 day for around $20 or there close to $300 for a full race license, it’s a scam but you can’t race without it supposable covers for insurance

    thanks eagle good info

It was around $600 entry plus you can choose to use club fuel stops for an extra $200 or so. But it costs most to put fuel in your car to get there unless you are reasonably close to start with. I live around 2400km away. So fuel was the big cost. We camped and did nearly all our own meals.
