AnonymousYou guys should check out Beerburrum North of Brisbane. I know guys go riding in there and it’s in between you both so not too far for either of you to travel.
Other option is to get out there and just explore, you’ll probably come across some other boys that you can hook up with (not in a ghey way) and sort some ripper trails out

AnonymousMt Mee is another option in a similar area to Beerburrum in between you both
Go forth and explore!!
January 23, 2009 at 4:53 am #119224Moto the rider of the BRP tells me that you may be up this way around the same time and may join us, there is plenty of room in the shed for the bikes, we just have to get the location set.

AnonymousWell, I’m looking into who’s riding and when, where they are staying etc. and may try and organise getting there myself. I will need to arrange some meetings with work (excuse to come up).
What’s the latest? Are you boys only riding the 22nd, are you still doing a short ride TB and making it more of a social?
We’ll have to see how it goes I guess…..

AnonymousTooly – Mike was telling me he’s keen for a ride at Kenilworth and he’s just got a new bike too. If you know the area maybe you can take him and show him a few tracks?
Let me know if you’re keen and I’ll sort you out with his number. Him and my cousin (his son) both go pretty good

February 6, 2009 at 10:42 am #115789Hey fellas I often drive down to ride at Lockyer State Forest and I would say that it would be roughly much the same distance drive from Sunshine Coast or southside of Brisbane. It is the usual reg and license needed ride area(and does get patrolled)and has plenty of variety. I have added some pics to show bits of what it is like, although the pic of the KTM is off edge of track so its not a hillclimb:ohmy: just a KTM thats a little wayward:laugh:
Also plenty of ST to be had. Next time I come down I will post a ride Date and Time if anyone is interested.
In the meantime here are directions to it.
Lockyer State Forest
Lockyer State Forest, car park at eastern end of forest reserve.Latitude S27°28.755′
Longitude E152°18.280′Lockyer
From Brisbane follow the Warrego highway (ie head to Toowoomba) just past the huge BP/McDonalds before Gatton, take the Gatton-Esk Road exit, then at the roundabout turn right so that you are heading back over the highway (the Hwy exit spits you straight into a roundabout). Follow for about 10 mins, then turn left into Millers Rd (2nd left), it turns into a dirt road almost immediately, follow this along, it will turn left, then it will turn right, and then left over a cattle grid, you are now in the forest, follow the road along for about a kilometre and there is a carpark on the right hand side.
Also coordinates for the old MX track at the top of the hill from the car park are:
Latitude S27°25.673′
Longitude E152°15.293′Or in Sunshine Coast case I go out Beerwah-KIlcoy road through to Esk and take Gatton turn-off and follow until Millers road turn-off on right. Quick note Millers road is now bitumen and when you get to end turn left as right will take you into new prison grounds and security are there:S
