    Geday all,

    I’m only 46yo but I thought I’d post anyway. first ever.

    Been riding since I was a young(er) fella, mostly honda XRs and lately ’07 crf450x.
    Past riding places include SE Vic (around Labertouche, Powelltown etc) central and NW Vic. (Sunset Country, Big Desert etc.)
    Currently living in the Whitsundays and riding out west of here whenever I can.
    Planning Cape York trip next year if $ permits.
    I have two mad keen boys (9&10) who ride JR80s with me in the local forests. Missus wants a bike too now. Bugger!

    Spent hours reading through your forum, heaps of great info and lots a laughs. Especially like pics of your trips away. Keep em up.
    Anyway… look forward to more your of posts and maybe even put in my 2 bobs worth here and there too.

    By the way, anyone riden Cape York can give me some pointers?

    Yeah Hi Macca, did the Cape in 2004 on a self run tour with a guide we had along, toof 12 months to organise, can give you alot of tips later

    many of you blokes know each other / ride together?
    seems a few of you ride together in the watagans a bit hey?
    is that in the blue mountains?
    I lived in Blaxland for a while there.
    choice place to live.

    Actually Macca, We only know each other through this website. Some guys I have met in person at a ride. I am looking forward to putting some faces to names at our Xmas party this weekend

    Yeah most guys meet through the site and maybe bring a friend or colleague along. There area a few of us who have been on a few rides together now though. The Watagan’s is kind of close for a lot of people so is a good place to ride.

    Blaxland is not a choice a place as the Whitsundays!

    I wasn’t insuating that Blaxland was bad. I was insuating that the Whitsundays was better! :p

    No, only skirted it. But I know there aren’t picturesque beaches with golden sand and crystal clear water that I can’t sit in while it gently laps against my bottom and my only concern in life is not spilling my beer :P :laugh:

    I recall many a friday night at the Lapstone Hotel for dinner and a couple of coldies. (1996 i think)

    I was between bikes when I lived in Blaxland so I did’t get to enjoy places like the Watagans unfortunately.

    Now I ride through nearby cattle stations and the Cathu State Forest. Whitsundays is a nice place to live I must confess. Great boating, diving,fishing etc.

    I need less work more play.

    Christmas Party was very good thanks mate. Unfortunately I’m pobably spending most of next weekend with TB too, you can’t have it all I guess! ;)

    For some reason the Lapstone hotel sounds familiar. I’m pretty sure I’ve never been to Blaxland too :(
