Here are some pics of one of my favourite and productive land based game fishing spots. It is affectionately know as the “Tubes”. It is on the inside of the nth headland of Jervis Bay. It is great for marlin from late December to February.

I was pretty serious fisho. All this gear was carrying in down a half hour track.

Hooked up on a marlin but lost it at the rocks:angry:

Bugger filling all those swimming pools with a bucket on a rope. This is the go. A two stroke powered waterpump. Did I mention I was pretty serious B)

Mate the tubes are legendary,so is carrying a two stroke pump. That is serious stuff mate. I have never caught a marlin off the stones but have caught plenty from a boat. Biggest 187kg Blue.

That’s a pretty big blue Mick! Down off Sydney we used to fish minimum 37kg gear for blue’s, and still sometimes get spooled or busted off. Probably in the 250-300kg range.

I was a deckie on a game fishing boat off Sydney for 5 years and I know this will sound like a complete wank, but marlin are actually quite easy to hook up. (not talking about the winding in bit) The hard part is affording all the gear and a well setup boat.
