it will also help to keep me from lying to myself and being a pussy when time for a jog in 32C heat, or out on the pushy in the rain   :laugh:i need to be able to do…
* a flexed arm hang for a minimum of 20 seconds

March 26, 2010 at 5:14 am #174423Now I know it’s hard to believe but in my twenties and early thirties I was a fitness fanatic Mr Menace, the key to any sort of program is to remember your goals and visualise what you are going to achieve.
Riding a pushie is an excellent start, Rain.. just a little water, cold…. just try a bit harder and you’ll heat up, heat….. Oh well that one’s hard to avoid, but keep focused.Situps will prbably be the hardest, not actually doing them, but getting the lower limbs to stay put while your upper body fights gravity, practise, several times a day, in the morning do a few , whenever you think of it, just lay down and try.
I know you can get there, you’re a fairly determine Bloke so go forth and become “super spidy menace”.

March 26, 2010 at 5:51 am #174438It’s all about the core Menace. Get that strong and the rest will follow. It may sound like a chicks class but Pilates is the best possible thing you can be doing.
Good Luck

March 26, 2010 at 5:56 am #174424you dont say how old you are menace and i dont know if there is one near you but if you wanta tip go to your local footy team ( if there is one near you of course ), i used to do this up until i was 39 especially at this time of year because its all fitness work pre season, i used to do this with the Hinton Hornets a 3rd division team hear in the hunter valley tuesdays and thursdays and then a good pusshy ride on the weekend plus if your riding your motorbikeas well you would have no problem getting to your goal, im not saying its easy exercise it used to hurt me like hell first off but any coach usally has an idea for a good routine with fitness and streching and it doesnt cost you a cent apart from the blood sweat and tears you leave on the footy field alot of people pay big money to have a personnel trainer put you through the same thing , BUT you wont be the only one everyone else is in the same boat at this time of year cheers Huskybloke

March 26, 2010 at 7:51 am #174441When they measure your height stand on your toes, that will help.
But really Menace good luck with it.
Eat smaller meals more often, the more often you eat the less fat the body will store (as long as they are not fatty meals). When you don’t eat regularly the body stores more fat because it doesn’t know when the next lot is coming so eat smaller meals 5 or 6 times a day instead of 2 or 3 big ones.
Make lunch your main meal of the day, that way you have all afternoon whenyour more active to burn it off rather than going to bed with a full stomach.
Drink plenty of water, it will help flush out some of the fats as well as suppressing your hunger.
Do your sit ups and push ups first thing in the morning and again in the afternoon, start with say 10 of each and increase by 2 every day. Hold the top pushup position for 1 minute to strengthen your core muscles which will help with the situps and the pushups.
Mate I am chock full of useful tips which one day I hope to use myself

, thus enabling us to do such things like ride our bikes :cheer: use our computors
and live a violence free life style.
I have full confidence that you will shed all that unneeded wieght and I also feel that the examiners will soon realise they are dealing with some kind of freak of nature when they watch you perform the exersises they have set aside for you…
Go get them spidy,
try not to shoot someone on your first day.
