If you are thinking about making one of those set ups, you best make 3 as I am sure Crash would like one too.;)

You boys are too quick to overheat your bikes. It’s an XR it would work without coolant anyway wouldn’t it? What about a higher pressure rad cap first as the standard ones are quite low aren’t they (1.1bar or something).

I’ve never seen TB or any of the XR boys overheat their bikes so why add the weight and gizmo’s?

There was jokes to be had about the type of rising people do to but we’ll leave that out :kiss:

I changed my cap, and havent had a problem since, I have only boiled mine twice, I keep an eye on it, I have only been caught waiting for people or being held up

I’ve only ever boiled mine once and I did some pretty snotty stuff with Matt when we first got our bikes. The fan might help if you did heaps of slow, high revving hard shit but I think it’s fair to say that the average XR rider doesn’t do that. The avergane rider of any bike in fact doesn’t do that.

I’d go with Moto on the average assumption, however we do quite abit of that sorta thing (Tight first gear clutch work S/T) and basically as TB pointed out “outside of design parameters”

I can do all the single trail first gear work all day, its only when you have to stop all the time, waiting or hold ups, thats it, some movement is all that is required.

I’m not sure that any bike manufacturer (outside of trials) had in mind what many of us do for kicks with our dependable steeds, I think they imagine the average (as Moto said) amatuer is busy racing around firetrails in 4th/5th gears with the occassional short hard track, not 60 klms of kangaroo trails through the udergrowth.
And as Tb stated movemnt to get some heat transfer going, ergo fan is good idea.

I’ll have one too Mick while you’re at it, if I squint really really hard and put red glasses on mine looks abit like a BRP too…;)

AS many as you like. Maybe you could sell one to me, as fabrication isn’t exactly my forte.
