For sale IT250H project bike, Needs a lot of TLC, I bought it with grand plans of restoring it.. Upon better inspection the bike needs more work than the original seller let on.I dont have the time to deal with it now. The piston is melted and the bore is scored.THere is no play in the big end though. The gear shift shaft is toast too. The forks are in good condition with only one spot of rust, way above the stroke of the forks near the triple clamp. Neither the forks or the monoshock show any signs of leaks and the fork gaitors are in usable condition. The front rim is dented and the spokes in both wheels are rusty. The rear guard is not original and appears to be off a YZ. It will need a new reed block as it is perished where the power injection unit plugs into it. The seat cover is also history. The Carby seems to be in excellent condition though. The complete bike is there ( minus headlight and shroud) for $400 or I will consider parting it out. Transport to Sydney or Newcastle can be arranged for a small fee.

Hi Mick, I raced an ’82 model IT250 for a little while. Great old bikes.

Maybe list it over here: http://ozvmx.com/community/index.php

I have a checkered history with IT’s, it’s a love/hate relationship, and despite this Michael you have me thinking “what if, and you know I could”…….

if it was the 465, I’d be paying you a visit this weekend.

I Know what you mean about the love/hate thing Mr Blue.I was riding my IT175 J around the paddock chasing the young bloke a couple of weeks ago, when he lost the front end and fell off.
I went back, laughed at him, then proceeded to bury him in roost! Funny as. Right up till the gearbox blew.
Bike will no longer stay in gear, and has a few other issues as well. Strangely enough, young George thought this was heaps funnier than I did!
    Yep, it’s a love/hate thing allright.
