Looking at bashplates for my ’07 WR250F. I am definately getting a Force radiator guard, in my opinion the best out there. The Force bashplates look great and have a 1-bolt removal system which sounds tops, but I haven’t seen one in the flesh. I’ve had a B&B bashplate on the banana (DRZ400) and it was good but wouldn’t mind hearing from everyone about their experiences with bashplates, good and/or bad. I recall with the banana that the original bolts for the B&B bashplate bent and had to be replaced which was a pain. Any suggestions? Whipps? Give me reasons, give me guidance!
All I can say about plastic bash plates is this:
No Thanks!
(Not my bike by the way… poor Spike will spew if he sees me post this set of pics somewhere else! You might recognise it from the latest TBAM!)
January 5, 2009 at 8:34 am #116766I have seen those pictures somewhere else, anyways, I like whipps products but having said that I was impressed with the job the plastic one on the project DRZ when Chopper tried to bulldoze a large rock, it protected the water pump real well.
Chris has a force on his bike but not through choice the shop just fitted it for him, it looks ok. The one bolt thing worries me as there is only one retainer to stop it swinging down which could cause a nasty little incident!
Just my thoughts

I get so much reverb from it, it sounds like my engine is the last off Noah’s wreck! Or a diesel massey ferg.??! Too bad no one is making Rad gaurds for them yet

January 5, 2009 at 10:50 am #116768Just put a B & B bashplate on my underripe banana, as opposite to you TB I prefer the look of them to whipps ( I know I can’t get colour bike right so why get bashplates right:laugh:). Havn’t had chance to ride since fitting so can’t rate it yet. I do want to get force rad guards although my parental control on security won’t let me look at the website for them as its toooo naughty.

January 5, 2009 at 11:06 am #116842Yeah.. I have Husky R&D in my bookmarks, they just dont show much for the 610 though. I reckon I’ll go see me mate at the fab. shop and have him knock some up, as well as a chain/crankcase gaurd..it keeps my $ local that way and he seems happy to do the work..so far
