hi people as most of you know from a couple of my posts I put a 15ltr safari tank on my wr 250 its all fitted and lined up right.

but when I turned the fuel on it doesn’t flow into the carby???? I don’t know y as I thought gravity would do the job. I take the hose off the carby inlet and it fows through just not when its connected

I appreciate all you assistance and comments to help me out ill put some pic up too also for you guys to diagnose

thanks you all so very much

    Hi Andy,

If you connect the fuel line up to a carby that is already full it won’t flow as the needle will be closed against the seat due to the fuel bowl being full.
Loosen the 3mm Allen key screw on the bottom of the float bowl and let the fuel drain out of the carby. As this happens the float level will drop resulting in the needle dropping away from the seat. This will then allow fuel to flow from the tank to the carby.
Tighten the 3mm Allen key screw and the fuel flow should stop.

Give that a go, I hope it helps.

good call Lefty, love your work.
Had a mate with a 750 duke roady that would stop after 10 minutes ride time. He sent it to 4 different bike
shops. they all said nothing wrong with it. But they didn’t run it for 10 on the road.
We had a look one day and it had a 1 way breather on the tank inlet.
It was installed the wrong way round.Poor thing starved of fuel with no air
Cost old mate $900 from bike shops. To tell him was all good. :(
