Not sure if this is the right thread but I am sure Admin will sought that out for me,

I am currently in discussions with a fellow Old bull regarding a local bussiness owner has approached us to see if we can hold a trail ride to raise funds for a local rescue organization.

Has anyone done something like this before and what should I be looking out for,,IE; liabilities, insurance,ETC.

any advice will be great .

    Cheers

Did you put this in the tech forum so we have to be serious and can’t use any humour for fear of the Admin skull and cross bones. I think you would end needing to go through MNSW or similar to get the required insurances at good rates. As it is not a race then all that would be needed is a recreation licence at $20/rider. I would give Chris or Col Thomas a ring in Moree. They are going through the same thing for a trail ride at Horton in May. The other option would be talk to the boys at Dalby Moto. They organise (or at least know who does organise) a whole series of trail rides around southern QLD and North Star. My guess is you would also need some officials running the event (at least in namesake anyway) who have stewarding and clerk of the course tickets from MNSW etc. Might be different if it is a fundraiser.

    Hi Boony
Is there someone up there who does trail tours, this could be a good start, they would know the licence requirements eg. state forest permission, liabilities etc. Venue would be another issue, rubbish toilets etc, unless private land with waivers. I will have a chat with a guy who has alot to do with the apex rides down here(which are for charity), but they are run by them. Also have a chat with protty, the organising he had to do for mount seaview could shed some light.

    cheers Hatto
