First impressions, Filter arrived today, immediate first impression was how light it was although unoiled I was expecting it to be heavier, the foam is very soft and the rubber seal inspires me with confidence about getting a really good seal around the airbox. The filter came packaged in a large clip lock plastic bag which contained the Filter, a carboard insert with the oiling, cleaning and fitting instructions, and my favorite FREE stickers. Now to oil it and fit it, will keep you posted.
This from there website.

WHY CHOOSE A FUNNELWEB FILTER?
1. The Foam!
Our single layer, single porosity polyurethane foam has the advantage of ease of cleaning and maintaining it’s original shape & fit. One side of the foam is cut to form a pyramid profile effectively doubling the filter’s surface area without increasing it’s original size.
The increased surface area enables the filter to trap and hold far more dirt on the outside of the filter, offering more protection to the engine and extending service (cleaning) intervals. As any dirt is spread over a much larger surface area, airflow restriction caused by dirt build up is minimised substantially. Overall, compared with conventional foam filters, FunnelWeb offers more protection from dirt ingestion, has longer service intervals and maintains high airflow rates when dirty.
2. The Filter Seal!
The filter’s seal is constructed from injection moulded urethane, for precise fit on the filter’s supporting frame and inside the air box. Conventional foam seals will tend to stretch out of shape after the filter has been cleaned and oiled a couple of times. This generally results in a poor fit on the filter frame which may have a detrimental effect on the filter’s sealing ability. Urethane seals will always maintain their shape ensuring a positive seal and fit every time.
3. Refined Development Process
The FunnelWeb Filter has been developed over more than 5 years with the assistance of the Australian KTM Race Team. Numerous combinations of foam profiles and porosities have been tested in harsh, dusty race conditions and test tracks to come up with the ideal combination. More than 1,500 filters were manufactured, tested and either serviced and reused, or cut open for inspection before any were made available for sale.
Funnel Web Air filters are manufactured in Australia
4. Australian Manufacturing
We specialise in the manufacture of selected off road motorcycle filters only. Our range will be expanded in the future to include other models and ATVs. All componentry and packaging are Australian made and the product is assembled in a new manufacturing facility in Newcastle NSW.

Chris.November 19, 2011 at 3:40 pm #212053Looks like tropical fruit from the supermarket.
Are the pyramid bits hollow inside or are they just chunks on the outside? Or put another way, does it look like the inverse on the inside?

September 18, 2012 at 12:00 pm #229682I ran one on my WR and it was a prefect fit. Saw one in a CRF and it was far from that. Check fitment on an EXC before you buy one.

September 18, 2012 at 10:48 pm #229683I’ve been to their factory, it’s in Newcastle. It”s very well set-up and the staff are helpful and friendly.
Quite a few race teams actually use them, I forget which ones but they seem to be a good thing. I stopped by to get one for my Berg but they weren’t available for the Bergs then, they are now though.
I’ll be buying one or two shortly.
September 18, 2012 at 11:14 pm #211975Thanks guys

I checked and the KTM run them for desert races so they must work well for them.
