I tell you there’s never a dull moment when TB is around.

TB, DanD and myself did another little pre-run for the Jurds ride this morning which was good but not a patch on our afternoon’s run.

Someone had the idea that it would be really funny for TB to double DanD over to Eagles on my scorpio. Now for those of you who don’t know, my scorpio is really just classified as a commuter bike (i.e. very lightweight) and is only 225cc.

To then add to the hilariousness of this, I followed behind them on Chop’s DR400 (which I happen to absolutely love). We started off from our place and heading down the road I noticed that the bike was weaving all over the road. I think TB was warming up the tyres.

I then followed them around a corner and was expecting to see sparks flying out from under the bike because the centre stand was so close to dragging along the ground it wasn’t funny. I tell you what, TB can ride. Further up the road in an 80 zone apparently there was some unpleasantness when they were going around a corner (got to be careful). I think I missed this because I was turning around to see if there was anyone behind me and if they were just sitting in their car cackling their head off. Actually a trail bike rider was following us so I just shook my head.

We then went through Holmesville towards West Wallsend and it was so funny watching TB preparing for a sharp corner with DanD sitting straight up on the back and TB leaning right down for the turn. I don’t know how they both got back alive.

We had to stop at West Wallsend to put a heap of air in the back tyre. No it wasn’t flat, they just needed so much more to actually keep it on the road.

We go through the roundabout towards Minmi and as TB goes around the roundabout he puts his hand out in a stop gesture to all the approaching cars from the other entries to the roundabout. Funniest thing ever. I couldn’t stop laughing the whole way.

They were very friendly though and made sure to wave to all the kids along the way and some bikers on the side of the road. At one stage one of them, not sure who, yelled out ‘Get yourself a scorpio’. That guy was probably riding a 1200 or something, it looked real fast.

We headed in the back way to Eagles which meant that the Scorpio had to negotiate a bit of dirt but it handled it well (it didn’t have much choice with TB in charge).

It was nice to catch up with Eagle and for TB to meet Boony who is staying at Eagles tonight before tomorrows ride. They did video us riding in the back gates so hopefully they can upload the video so that you get the jist of the feat that they were attempting. I must’ve continued laughing for about 10 minutes after we got there because it was just so funny.

After a couple of drinks with the Eagle’s and Boony (DanD needed a few to get enough courage to get back on the bike) we then set off home again. I got in front of them not far out from Eagle’s place cause it just so happens that I love the DR400. So we hit West Wallsend and they try to take me by taking a shortcut. I didn’t see this but apparently one of the corners did not work out as well as intended. I’m glad I didn’t see it. They then took me on another stretch and I watched them go through the roundabout near Barnsley. The rear tyre was doing things I am pretty sure it’s not supposed to do. They then proceeded to take the roundabout so wide that they ended up riding along the gutter. No kidding. I asked TB what happened later on and he said ‘I went into it a bit hot’.
After that I couldn’t watch anymore so I overtook them. I actually had to stop and wait for them up the top of Rhonda Road. Apparently they didn’t want me to beat them home so DanD (full of courage of course) starts into TB saying ‘Pin it, pin it’.

I let them overtake me after this. So we are just about home and we are racing each other down the road (half heartedly of course and only going the speed limit again) and when they tried to take the corner into our street they couldn’t stop and had to keep going down the road, turn around and then come back.

But the crème de la crème of the whole outing was seeing them ride up our street (which is quite steep) yelling out ‘Kylie watch this’ and then seeing TB pop a mono on it. It was an absolute corker and for young ones out there please remember that this sort of behaviour should not be tried at home.

I wanted them to do the mono thing again but this time I was going to video it but apparently they were very concerned that it might not end well if they tried it again.

My poor scorpio. It’s been violated. They had it pinned the whole time and even said that they were sure that the forks were bending at times (they are very lightweight).

I have never had such a funny experience in my whole life.

I just checked the Scorpio’s specifications and I figure that between the two of them the load was 15kg over the recommended maximum load.

There is talk of that already Boulder, it will happen and replace the Scorpio, but a normal DR with two sets of wheels is the talk around here ;)

I was reading this thinking a DR is too high for Mrs.D but with 17′ wheels obviously not.

I had road and dirt wheels for my DRZ400 and they are a great bike on the road as well as dirt.

Now I miss that bike, I wish I’d sold it to the D’s.

Based on what Devon head? I did things on that bike today that where just wrong but we never had a drama as such, nor would endanger my mate who had trusted me with his life. But we had enough laughs for a month as did Kylie :woohoo: .

With the blue tooth head sets on it was very funny, Kylie handed our arse to us, it got very intense at one stage I asked Dan to stop talking to me as I was concentrating, as he said later no matter where we go in the bush or how fast we go I talk the whole time, but yesterday I was busy trying to catch Kylie
