Great write up and vids Krusty,I am going to have to lift my game film production wise. I have been busted on heaps of rides too mate should have seen me the next day  What the vids don’t show was it was F……… very hot, that really knocks the wind out of your sails a lot quicker. And i learned my lesson don’t attempt to eat an energy gel when youve run out of water or you will choke.
December 29, 2012 at 9:24 pm #234078Sensational Saturday continued.
• We headed on to the junction area, covering some well worn trails with ruts, braking and acceleration bumps. These are mostly 3rd gear flowing singles.
• A bite to eat was had and an opportunity to cool down. Krusty had some knowledge of the singles ahead so he led while I ran sweep.
• The trails led us out onto the main FT so I took the lead for some FT action while I looked for the next ST.
• Marty Monster took over at the front with Gocman close behind, Krusty in pursuit then me followed by Wolfie who was happy sweeping. The pace was on as the lads had ridden this section a few times. I managed to catch up to Krusty who was riding well. Dust was a hindrance so you had to stay back or right up close to the rider in front. A passing opportunity came up so I ducked left when Krusty took the long way around the corner.
• I could only catch MM and Goccy’s dust before they pulled up to regroup.
•
• I led us along the overgrown ST that Wolfie & I did on Friday which took us down to a new to me ST loop Wolfie & I did on Friday as well. This was a little tricky as it had major ruts and steps so Wolfie took a breather while we did the loop and returned via the ST.
• I had a bit of a play on the rock formations then parked the 300 on a rotted log. Once we got going, I eased the bike off the log with a few revs. Job done I turned around to see the log with a S12 sized gap in it. Little did I realise that the 300 was giving Wolfie’s bike a good mulching with the remains of the log. Marty450 was keen to start a mulch fight and threw a bunch of it at me. Wolfie had a laugh and was cool with it all.
•
• Eagles Nest was our next destination, until a saw a side track that I missed the day before. Having a quick look deemed it suitable for the lads with Goccy out front. A T section stopped us until a majority vote saw me lead us left on the ST which wound down into a valley, over a rock slide and down a little hill climb. We ended up on the swamp track which was dry and the first time I had seen it dry.
•
• Krusty and Wolfie were happy to get back to camp so our options were to go back up the way we came or pick up a FT and hit Wolgan Rd to the camp.
• The FT was decided upon however a locked gate stopped our progress. We then turned back and did another loop back to the top of Eagles nest with Krusty saying he was sure the ST looked familiar.
•
• Now going down Eagles Nest is easier than going up it as it has a major rut you have to ride in. This led us to the Fern Valley which brought out the camera.
• One last obstacle to encounter was the rough hill that Wolfie & I rode down the day before. All had no problems with it. Wolfie watched the lads ride it, then watched Krusty ride through a tree that was blocking the track. He knew what to do from there.
•
• Back onto BFH FT we headed for camp only stopping at That Hill to show MM & Goccy my new found hill to conquer. They said I could have it to myself!
• Back at camp the BBQ was called into action to feed the mob. Thanks to everyone who came and had fun.
