Rock Motorcycles in Port Macquarie have some great deals on 310’s and right across the Husky range at the moment.

Speak with Mal he is a fair and an honest as bloke as you will ever meet and I don’t think he would ever have another one

I was involved in the build for his bike for the A4DE (raced as a clubman) the cost of spares made a KTM seem cheap I kid you not  I was blown away by the price of spares brake pedal and piston come to mind!!. It was a good bike to ride but not good enough to buy one no matter how cheap IMO.
My step father has a Husky WR250 rego 08 that has only done 1200kms, rego and ridden by a 62 year old and he has been trying to sell it for over 2 years and its now at 3 and a half k (actually may have just sold  )

Sorry it’s just what I seen and experienced first hand and my opinion (that is wrong from time to time  )

I also wouldn’t buy a Gas Gas because I think there are people with rose coloured glasses riding them  Just an opinion again, I love Mal’s its sex on wheels!

It hurts me to write this but if I was to buy a two stroke it would be KTM 300 or the Husaberg same same really, some extras like the CC forks on the berg. I love the TM’s to look at but wouldn’t own one because no one wants them as seen in our own for sale section here.

TB is correct. I had one and wouldn’t own another WR300.

Facts: Piston and rings (no gaskets or O rings) from PFG $520 ($325 from a dealer in the states) I still have a new one on the shelf in the shed. Rear brake pedal (genuine shit cast crap) from PFG $155, I have that one mounted on the wall in the shed. That was in 2010 it may be different now.

They are an ok bike. They don’t rev high compared to the KTM or Gassers. The 300 has the 2007 frame (250 has all new frame). Fuel tank sits on top of the frame raising the COG. They are a very tall bike, I’m 180cm and could just touch the ground on tippy toes. Unnaturally heavy clutch for a 2 stroke. I could go on for ever. Oh and mine failed at 400km, huge score in the bore for no apparent reason and have read of a few 300s failing. And you can’t give them away when it comes time to sell.

I have a 2010 Gasser now and love it. The KTM/Bergs are good from what I hear too. If resale floats ya boat then buy the KTM/Berg.

Haha I was waiting for that Ollie. TB actually did speak alot of truth there. I only have one because I wont own a 4T and the Kato at the time was the smart choice in nearly every way over the other 3. Id love to have one of each in my garage.

Nah not a turncoat just a realist find me a water cooled 650 that will better a XR 650? I mean it does everything that Ollie’s shitter won’t and kicks his arse (oh but it isnt a race when you get your arse kicked   ) although he always has an excuse

I like the Kato I also like the new WR ;)

You could buy a 570 and put a 610 kit on it. With the newer motor I’m betting power and torque would close. Even such a small trade-off would be outweighed but the lightness of the Berg over the 650.

That said, I can’t remember you needing to re-build your 650 every 5 weeks :P
