Added a bit of bling to the gg300 today!!January 30, 2012 at 7:53 pm #215170Nice one Nato,,,
They are becomng a collectors item now, so take care of it and show it off up there proudly
January 30, 2012 at 8:33 pm #215171Looks good Nato.
You might want to wire the throttle cable cover to the throttle assembly. If you jag the cable on a tree branch in the tight stuff she’ll go full throttle all of a sudden. Not a good thing to happen, trust me.
January 30, 2012 at 8:43 pm #215174Yeah that was done but the pit crew removed it, Gonna put it back on.
January 30, 2012 at 8:54 pm #215175Hey Nato,
how do you like the Gas Gas ? Its one i would consider as my next bike.January 30, 2012 at 10:53 pm #215176If i had my time again i would have bought new cause the owner before me was a cowboy and i got it over the net by his word which now means f all. Apart from that which is all fixed now its great!! I will be buying another one sometime in the future for sure! The cluth and breaks have amazing feel and the suspension i find is awesome as standard with a few clicker adjustments. Things that i dont like would be the bolt sizes are all over the place for example the expansion pipe has 2 different size bolt heads where 1 would be handy, But i may just be picky. My brother corey8 may be the better bloke to ask in the way it is to work on as he had stripped it to the bone before i saw it for the 1st time. Things i like would be the power and the delivery of it i can wheel stand it as comfortable as i did on a 4 stroke and the hill climbs are piss easy on it. The weight is very light at around 105kg so its easy to throw around. Are you on a kato now? Ask mal and ollie about theirs too but they will have a similar response.
January 31, 2012 at 1:12 am #215183Yeah mate im on a Kato and i love it but the Gas Gas look pretty good and it seems that evryone who owns one swears by them, the resale value doesnt hold up against the kato but as far as everything else goes they look the goods. they are the only other 2T i would consider.
January 31, 2012 at 11:08 am #215186Pete, The GG like any bike has its peculiarities but most of them are easy to live with or get around. I brought mine because it was a six speed box lower seat height and a linkage rear end. They make a great trail bike and plenty of Bling available for them if you know where to look , you have to become a member of the elite GG owners club before this can be divulged
I reckon spare parts prices are a lot better than KTM and if you have a good dealer you cant go wrong. A lot of parts from other Bikes will also fit ( I currently have a YZ kick starter and a Honda clutch and WR spec Pivot pegs on mine )
I dont buy a bike on resale value it has to be a happy partnership, and in all honesty they are not that bad now anyway, makes for good buying second hand :cheer:
These bikes are becoming increasingly more popular, because everyone who has one raves about it. If the Japs made 2 strokes they would sell a squillion of themOllie
January 31, 2012 at 12:38 pm #215187I saw your write up on the cr clutch in ggriders ollie and im interested as to why you would change it to that as mine feels great?

Mine was rooted but it is an 07 model and has plenty of Hours up on it.
Manufacturers make a squillion Jap parts so they are going to be cheaper than what the Euro’s have to charge. The YZ kick starter is a better design in my opinion though.
If anyone is interested I think KTM Rules (Doddy) has his Nambotin for sale for a good price.

January 31, 2012 at 5:04 pm #215201I figured that would be the case with the clutch. Was it a pretty complicated task or piss easy even for the not so mechanically minded?
