    Hello All,
Real name is David and i am 52 years old. I have been riding bikes since i was 9 yrs. First bike ever ridden was a converted Bridgestone 50cc road bike.
First bike i ever owned was a Deltek Grass Grub (zip start lawn mower engine 125cc), since then i have owned dirt bikes, road bikes and trials bikes. Just got back into riding after a 3 year break. Current bike is an 05 KTM450EXC and i am slowly coming to grips with it.
I am based in Sydney and have been riding around the central coast lately with my son.
I learned about OBs in Trail Rider magazine and was interested in a site populated by older riders. Although “me time” is pretty scarce at the moment i hope to get involved in some local rides in the near future. I am having a crack at the Watagans Trail Bike Rally in June and Sunny Corner in September. I might be able to catch up with some OB members there.
    :)

Gday Dave, thanks for the intro, your story sounds similar to many of us around here. You’ll enjoy the banter that goes on around OBT,especially if you have thick skin and can take a joke. ;)

Welcome Dave, so what was the problem with the activation e mail? Hope I helped must of I guess your here  Lucky you didn’t say you had a Kato or I may not have helped :P nah would of helped.

Bridgestone didn’t they have a rotary gearbox if my memory serves me well, they became a big hit with the bucket racers when the series first kicked of years and years ago

Welcome champ, yeah Ollie’s right (that wont happen much  ) avoid a Murphs ride if your getting your sea legs back but that said don’t go with Ollie unless you still have your Deltek rock hopper cause that’s his pace :P :P Nah Ollie will take you on a good ride up the Watagans ;)

    Hello All,
Yes the Bridgestone had a rotary g/box which caused some problems if you bypassed 4th and ended up back in 1st.
The rock hopper had a suspended seat and the grass grub was rigid.
No idea what problem with activation was but all good now!

    Hi David,

Welcome to the site. I think I ran into you up at Red Hill (Kulnura end of Orimbah State Forest) a few weekends ago when you were out with your son. I’m normally up that way hanging out with BMW Dave and the kids chasing them around the MX track.

Hope to see you out there,…. I’m not hard to identify… I’m the one with an Identity problem… Honda Bike, KTM pants and Yamaha cap…

    G-day Rebore450
Sure you will enjoy this site :woohoo:
Most of these old bulls will remember the pull start Deltek, or at least a few of us ;)
You’ll have to come up our way and push that little 450 to its endurance limits :silly:
Was thinking of puting one last ride on the last weekend of this month
    Expressions of interest needed
If it happens you are more than welcome mate
    Cheers

    Welcome Rebore

My Dad owned a mower shop and was pretty handy with a welder so he knocked me up his version of the Deltek. I got given it on 7/7/77. I rode the wheels off that thing

Welcome to the site mate and I look forward to seeing you out on a ride.
